WE DID IT! Because of the generosity of dozens of our teams friends, families, and supporters, we made it to Cajamarca. We provided a high quality water filtration system to 40 families in total; We split them up at two events in different areas of town in order to bless as many families as we could. Each event included a gospel message and a demonstration on how to use the filters. Around 15 people in total gave their lives to Christ for the first time! So exciting!! When used correctly, these filters will provide clean water for 10 years! AMAZING! Thank you to all who donated to make this trip possible!!
We partnered with Gracia Iglesia Cristiana(Grace Christian Church) during our time in Cajamarca. We were able to bless them with learning material, help them with the clean water project, participate in kids ministry, another Samaritan Purse event, evangelize with them, and go to their church. Their dedication to serving their city is so incredible to see. I was talking with our host Joel and he told me that their church used to have over 50 people attending weekly, but they have been struggling to have people show up ever since they were forced out of their previous building. Pastor David and his family have had to find different places to have church and kids events every week. But they haven’t given up. This weekend, they had church in a medical clinic and kids ministry in the street. And guess what, none of that mattered, because they DID it. They have stayed with it when many others would have given up. No matter what deck they get handed, they always play. It doesn’t matter what serving and worshiping God looks like, it matters what God is doing in your life and through your life. He has a plan in every season.
