Today we went on a prayer walk/5k.  It was quite a long walk. We were walking to a house of a member of Pastor Donald’s (pastor we have been working with for the week) church. At the moment she lives in a house very close to Pastor Donald’s church. She had bought a piece of land to be closer to the rest of her family. Along the way to getting to site of her future house we had already made a few stops. We were quite tired by the time we got there. We talked to her about how God was not going to provide for the land and not provide a way for her to finish paying it off. We commended her for having faith that God was going to provide. While we were speaking to her a young boy walked up and was listening to us speak. It turned out to be a cousin of hers. He had a very sincere smile and brought a peace with him. After talking to him we found out his name was Marcos and he was 12 years old. Originally that was supposed to be our last stop before we were going to walk back. Pastor decided we needed to stop by Marcos house to talk to his mother and father if he was there. When we got to the house and started to speak is when I started seeing a reflection of myself.

Marcos mother thanked us for coming because we can spread the Gospel where she cannot because she does not have the money. We told her that her mission field was with her kids. I told her that her kids have the opportunity to go where she was never able to go. So by bringing them up to know God she went out with them. Betty( one of my teammates) told the mother that she could see so much in her son. The way he carried himself you could see he had a bright spirit and that he brought joy with him where he went. The mother began to speak about the situation of the family. And member after member of my team kept speaking to her about what we saw in her son and what he was destined for. She began to cry because she said Marcos had to deal with a lot of turmoil in his life as he grew up. She stated that he always tried to bring peace to the situation. It was clear even though he was 12 he had to grow up very quickly and he was wiser than his years. He had this quite attentiveness about him that soaked up every word that was spoken to him. You could tell he was willing to hear anything that he felt could help his family out.

The more we talked with him and his mother I began to see myself in him. Growing up I also had to deal with some hard times at home. I also felt many times where I needed to be the peace maker.  Marcos had this timidness about that showed he didn’t want to bring harm to anyone. That was the same timidness that I grew up with. I always wanted everyone around me to be okay. I told him to be sure instead of trying to fix things on his on to give them up to the Father so that he could make the changes. I learned much later in life that I could not do it by myself. I hope I was able to bring clarity and help him to not have to wait to learn the same lesson. It was clear that God made him a peacekeeper. However, that gift needed to be worked through him. That is what I learned along the way in my own life. It is such a blessing when God brings people into your life that are walking the same path you have already walked. You see is so much so it seems like a reflection. It gives you the opportunity to speak directly into their life from personal experience. I pray I continue to walk into those kinds of divine appointments where my life can be a testimony to someone.  I hope that Marcos will walk with his head held high knowing he is a son.
Many people on my team have had opportunities to give away keys today. I thank I had my chance today. If God gives us a key to a door how dare we not pass it on when we have the chance. By door I mean overcoming an obstacle in your life or walking into a new gift in your life. And by key I mean what it takes to overcome that obstacle or walk into that new gift. If we had not been on that road to speak to his cousin I would have never had the chance. Divine appointments come when you least expect it I am learning. So I challenge you all too always keep your keys on you!!!

Please continue to keep me meeting my deadline to stay on the World Race in your prayers. I still lack $2808.08 to meet my next deadline of Oct 1st. If you would like to donate towards my trip you can do that by clicking on the support me tab on the left side of the page. Again thank you for your prayers.
