Two days ago we were all sitting around before going back out for ministry and we all realized at once that the ground was shaking. Being that no one on my team is from the west coast it took us a second to realize it was an earthquake. We later found out we had just gotten tremors from an Earthquake off the coast of Costa Rica that registered a 7.2 on the richter scale. Someone came over to check on us to make sure that everyone was okay and no one was scared. We had all actually just laughed about it. We all knew it was the power of God. It might have been different of course if the tremor had of been bigger. I will not name names but someone on my team that has a picture on the side at the beach is easily scared sometimes.

Today I was going back over the week and thinking about things. I started to see the analogy of how God should be working in our lives. When God comes in your life it should be like an earthquake. It would be the kind of earthquake that did not register on the richter scale. If you do not know much about earthquakes they usually have tremors that register after the initial earthquake has actually ended. The larger the earthquake the more likely tremors will occur afterwards. It can leave tremors for multiple weeks. When you are hit by the earthquake that is God everything around you is forever changed.  The land you walk on will never be the same. And the multiple weeks of tremors of an 8-10 on the richter scale earthquake does not begin to compare. It should send ripples through your life as long as you are on this earth. I know for me that is exactly how it feels when I get new revelations. It is once again a change made that leaves me never the same.

Of course there is a difference between the natural disaster that is earthquakes and the power of God. Earthquakes leave devastation and leave infrastructure broken down. The power of God takes the devastation in your life and redeems them as if they were never broken. A common tremor in my life is God showing me anew how I still have not giving him everything. As I realize that new thing I need to give and finally do I grow closer to him and redeemed once again. Earthquakes bring things from underneath the ground to the surface. God our Father does the exact same thing. And once those things in our life are brought to the surface it reshapes everything around us. You may have looked at the 7.2 on the recter scale title and thought that is quite a large Earthquake, but that number can never compare to the power of my Father. Throw out the richter scale he does not fit in it. Do not try to measure the number of the quake he sends through your life you do not have the numbers. Just follow the ripple effect as it goes and let it wreck whatever you thought your life was supposed to be.
