An Update is Overdue
It's been a while since I've sent out an update to everyone, and I apologize for that. My life has been full and exciting here in Gainesville, but I have been neglecting my blog and those who follow me.
I wanted to take a short amount of time to let everyone what is coming next for me. For the past year, I have felt a strong calling to be in Thailand to work with the Burmese people. I really had no idea how I wanted to be helping them, or even what I wanted to be doing long term. But recently, God has been sparking new passions. Agriculture and community development have been at the foreground of all of it. These are both things I want to incorporate into my ministry once I get to Thailand, but I had no idea how to do that… Until now!
Spring Gate
The opportunity I have been given for training is exactly what I was looking for. One night in August, I emailed Seth Barnes, founder and CEO of Adventures, to ask him about opportunities to learn about sustainable agriculture. Almost immediately he replied with an email about this new program called "Spring Gate.". It has been developed to teach people community development, centered on sustainable organic agriculture. I couldn't have found anything more perfectly suited in to what God is calling me.
So what does this mean for me? Well, it means that in late December I will close out my time in Gainesville working at Adventures in Missions, and I will be moving to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to begin this journey. There is a group of eight of us that will be coming together, and dedicating the next two years to this program and to each other. I can’t think of a better way to prepare myself for ministry overseas.
Money, it’s the necessary evil. The cost for the first year is $10k. Yes, this is a whole lot of money; but I believe God will provide, and I believe there are people out there who are willing to continue investing in my ministry by supporting me through this. I have many people who I can't thank enough for everything they have invested into me spiritually and monetarily.
First, please seek God how He would have you support me. Every little bit counts, and I have also included some suggested giving levels to help me reach my goal.
- 5 people to donate $100 a month for 12 months
- 8 people to donate $50 a month for 12 months
- 10 people to donate $20 a month for 12 months
This works out to over $10k, and the excess will help me to pay off the last of my debts.

Thank YOU for being a part of my ministry for the past couple years, you have been a huge blessing.
