WOW! I can’t believe it has been this long since I have written a blog…sorry about that.
So…Recap
Honduras:
Awesome!
Had Amazing time with the Father
Spent the month tenting on a mountain in Honduras
Met some incredible young men with horrific stories but Amazing testimonies! God is so good!
Saw God's glory in each sunrise and sunset (Seriously they were spectacular every day)
Experienced REAL poverty and COMPLETE dependance upon God
Got the worst food poisoning I have ever had…from BK…not the street food
I saw God's intentionality with individual talents. Through the various ministries we worked with I saw God do incredible things using english classes, construction projects, soccer ministry, and just hangin out.
Man Time was Mantastic!!!
God brought me to places of brokenness that I hadn't experienced in a long time.
Nicaragua:
Also Awesome!!!
Had our first debrief as team All.Love.Branch which led to tremendous growth as a team throughout the month.
Arrived at Vision Nicaragua where I met some of the most amazing people in the world! We worked with a Passport team that was eager to pour themselves out and show the world the love of Christ. Also, the staff there were some of the most loving and servant hearted people I have ever met.
Killed multiple scorpions
Worked at an orphanage painting their school and shop, planting a swing set and building a playground, digging out and painting a base ball field, and leveling the ground for a basketball court.
Man time in the morning with Joe…Rocked!
My team grew to more intimate places with God and with each other as we took more ownership of our team and the time we had together.
Poured all that God had taught me over the past two months into the Passport team and watched them grow along side us.
At the end of the month I was asked to step into a squad leader position with Jamie Smucker and Leah Johnson (Two incredible people with giant servant hearts).
As leadership changes were made teams also had to be changed around. It was incredible to see God's intentionality with where He placed each individual person and His purpose and plan with each of the teams. It was also beautiful to see the love that is on this squad as people transitioned into their new teams and mourned their old ones.
Thailand:
Incredibly Awesome!!!
Stepped into my new role as a squad leader and immediately experienced a dependance upon God that I just haven't ever had before. I am in a place where I literally have to seek God's guidance for every word that comes out of my mouth and every action I take…and I Love it!
Experienced Sungkron (all of Thailand has a giant water fight for four days) definitely an awesome holiday!
Worked in a rice field
Got the sickest I have ever felt in my whole life and was literally healed instantly through prayer! Praise God!!!
Worked in the red light district in Chiang Mai and experienced a new brokenness as I talked with the women that work in the bars. It was incredibly difficult not to let hopelessness set in as I talked with those women but God is good and at the end of the month His power was seen as we saw several of the women choose a new life.
Ministered to some Aussies
The alumni squad leaders (Lindsay, Allan, and Hannah) poured themselves out for us new SLs and God used them so much to encourage and prepare us for the journey ahead.
I ate some of the best food I have ever had!
God challenged me again and again to step out in boldness and walk with confidence in Him as I continue to grow in my understanding of what it truly means to be a son of the Most High God!
This is just a handful of all that God has done over the past few months and I am so excited for all that He has in store for the future. I will try to post some more detailed stories over the next few days but hopefully this gives you some idea of all that is going on. Also I will try to post some pictures soon if the internet will let me upload them.
