Hello All,

This blog marks the last time that i’ll be saying “hola” to you since the team is leaving tomorrow to start our 3-4 day trek to Albania… Albania?! Whatt?! who goes there? That’s weird. They speak a new language, they look different, they have a totally different culture and there no way any of it will look like the time that we’ve spent here. In 3 months i’ve all fallen in love with South America, and the language that i hardly knew is now the one that I’m more comfortable in (most of the time). The team that i’ve come to know and love, is no longer the one that i’ll be living with… yeh, the squad goes through team changes three months in so that new leaders can rise to take the place of the previous squad leaders allowing them to go back to the states.
This transformation into these new beginnings at first look is terrifying…But then, as we remember the promises that the Lord makes, the love that the Lord has for each and every one of us, the fear begins to go and the “darkness” is lifted. The darkness of not liking the new team becomes excitement for getting to know and love new people, new brothers and sisters. The fear of uncertainty in the new culture becomes an adventure the leads to opportunities of growth and understanding. And the insecurities of not knowing this new language becomes another beautiful place for God to show the power of the Holy Spirit through the unveiling of foreign tongues. This all done so that the loving truth of the gospel of Christ can be communicated clearly through actions, service, love, and language.

The dream i had last night left me thinking a lot about my role in the Kingdom; my role in this world. I’ll try to write the whole thing out, but the end of it looked like a man walking through the streets with a sheet of paper in each hand. The one in his left was the old law, the rules and declarations of the false king who had  harshly and manipulatively ruled for a too long. The one in his right hand told all of the freedoms and declaration of the new King who had lived under the rule of the old king as the Prince and the rightful heir to the throne for too long. The man spoke joyously through the streets letting everyone know of the freedom that came in this new Kingdom. (totally all true! Keep a look out for the next blog that will have the whole dream)

So let us look to the new things with Joy. Let us look to the law that gives life and the freedom of the new King. Let us look forward to the life that brings light, declaring the truth that is the gospel of our New King.
Lord, I Love you.
I Love You.
I Love You.
And the plans You have are good!
I love you all and “look forward” to talking with you again soon.
Look toward the thing that brings you Joy… 🙂
