In the original Hebrew, the word “z’man” (pronounced “zeh mon”, the
Hebrew character is pictured above) is the word used for “season” or
“time” in the the book of Ecclesiastes:

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity
under heaven:”
   -Ecclesiastes 3:1

We chose this word to represent our team for several reasons.  The
idea that we are all different but united under a common heart is
something that we’ve all felt from the beginning, and Ecclesiastes
3:1 embodies the attitude we want to have toward this idea: that there
is time for everything, a time that God will use each of us according to
His will.

We have all been called together for a season to do God’s
work as a team.  There will be a season for each person’s
strengths to shine.  There will be a season for each person to
step up as a leader.   And eventually there will be a season
when our team will change or dissolve.  While that last one may seem
sad, we will strive to accept this with grace because of what really
matters:

“I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can
be added to it and nothing taken from it.”
   -Ecclesiastes 3:14

That’s what it’s all about.  We’ve already began to bond as a team,
and I’m looking forward to growing in friendship with this group of
people, but in the end it’s all about His work and what He has called us
to for this season in our lives.
