John 3:30
There comes a time on every World Race for a season of
change. A time where we reflect on the growth that has occurred over our early
months on the field, and walk into the new things that God has to stretch and
grow us. One of the phrases we use to describe this process is “stepping into a
bigger coat.

In 1 Samuel 2:19 we read that each year, Samuel’s mother
would come visit him and bring him a coat. Now this coat would clearly have to
last a whole year, so when she brought it to him, it probably didn’t fit too
well. It was something he would have to GROW into. At the end of each year, he
had outgrown his coat and it was time for his mother to place a new ‘bigger’
coat on him.
The time has come in my journey on the World Race to take
off the coat that I have worn as team leader. It has been an incredible 3
months with my team Z’Man; and through laughter, challenges, and tears we have
each experienced growth as we strive to be more like Christ and bring kingdom
to this earth. But just as our name means “season it is time for this chapter
to conclude and for each of us to walk into something new!
With the taking off of one coat, comes a new one, and I am
honored and humbled to be taking on the role of Squad Leader for the P-Squad. I
get the privilege, along with Lia Frederick (my new partner in crime), to serve
an incredible group of men and women the next 8 months.
God has been transforming my heart these last few months
with a love for this group of people that I can’t begin to describe. It’s not
in my capacity to love this many, but it is my prayer that I never operate out
of anything but His overwhelming capacity to love each of us beyond measure. I
can’t put into words the excitement and joy I feel to begin pouring into,
serving, and walking alongside these beautiful saints as we bring Kingdom to
the nations.
This coat feels too big right now, but I walk forward
knowing that I am covered by grace and that God will use this journey to make
it fit someday. These next few months will look drastically different and I
will soon share with you what my new ministry will entail.
As I step into this new season please pray for wisdom,
discernment, health, and protection over the entire squad and I. It is my
prayer that God will use this experience to continue weeding out the boy I have
known and grow me into the man that He is calling me to be.
