Music so far has been a life saver. Plugging into your iPod is about the only way to get alone time, and fortunately the only music I have is Christian music, so I get to spend alone time with Jesus on the way to ESL in the morning, on our way back home after ELS, as well as at home, and when I’m going to sleep.

There has been one Christian band called The Classic Crime and one song that has been specifically getting me through the days happy and getting me really excited about how awesome my bro Jesus is. The song is, Who Needs Air:

So take me down to the river like a little child,

And take my hand and tell me it’s okay to be wild!

I never knew the world until I saw it through Your eyes,

I never knew myself until I ripped off my disguise!

I’m drowning.

But I don’t care.

Cause when you’ve got, what I got, what I got,

Who Needs Air?

~So take me down to the river like a little child~

What river?? Why like a child? So often in this world as Christians we look so hard for the Lord to speak to us, we look so hard for God to give us signs, we look so hard for Jesus’ love, yet often times we never find it because the simplest answer is that He is right in front of our face. We look and look and look but we never listen. Isn’t it crazy how kids just have perfect faith in whatever they are told! They have instant trust, are often times brutally honesty, and pure innocence.

So what is the river? The river is God’s Everlasting Love! His joy, His Playfulness, His Peace, His Comfort, His Warmness, His Secureness, His Forgiveness, His Passion, His Grace, His Mercy, and the list goes on! How amazing is that! A river is a rush of constant flowing water that never stops, that’s never ending, that is powerful! If that’s a river in our world, than imagine what God’s river is! And he gives us the chance to step right in and play!

When we let Him, when we have the willingness too, He will take us down to the river, His river, and talk to us, His children. But only when we are willing to have the trust, the honesty, and the innocence of a child with Him.

~And take my hand and tell me it’s okay to be wild~

Isn’t it crazy that He loves us SO much that he is willing to hold our hands like a real Daddy does! “Go on, play in the river, first dip your toes in and then we will cannon ball, I’ll be holding your hand the whole time.” Say what?? Now isn’t that just crazy? And then He tells us It’s Okay to BE WILD!

What does it mean to be wild? I think that answer is simple. He tells us to be WILD!! “Be wild in my Love, and everything I have to offer you! Be wild in Me, wherever you go, be Wild in my river and when you are talking to people let yourself be soaking wet in all I have given to you!”

I think that’s about the best advice I’ve ever been given! Tell me to be crazy, tell me to go have fun, tell me to be Wild, and I’m gonna go do it! After all, why not take the chance, why not let the Lord just have full control of you? Let His waves and strength smash into you, passionately outpouring, into your soul because that’s what He wants to do, that’s where He wants to be with you! Holding our hands every step of the way.

“Josh jump! Jump into my river! You are my child, you’ll have no idea what you will experience if you would just take the chance. Jump! I’m holding your hand, Be WILD Josh, Be WILD, It’s Okay! Now Jump!”

~I never knew the world until I saw it through your eyes, I never knew myself until I ripped off my disguise!~

Jumping into His river, allowing Him to live the life He wants for us, giving Him the chance to show the World to you, isn’t that a risk worth taking! It may be scary, it may be crazy, but where else better to be then where the Lord wants you?! We live in this world, we live in this world that He created, yet often times we believe we are the rulers of our own life, that we actually have control, and that we own the world. Wrong! This world isn’t ours, we aren’t even our own, everything here on earth is just borrowed, it’s all the Lord’s!

We’ll never know the world until we see it through His eyes! This is hard because we rely on sight so often that we forget that these material things aren’t ours, we forget that oh look there’s Jesus there, and there, and there, and there! When we look through Jesus’ eyes we see a whole new world, a whole new perception on this rock we call home. We forget that Jesus loves the person begging for money on the side of the road with no legs, we forget that Jesus loves the person whose home only has four walls and is made out of thin metal, WE FORGET THAT JESUS LOVES THE PERSON WHO WE CALL OURSELVES!

The worldly things are so often what we rely on and we always forget to live IN the world and we often times live OF the world. Drugs, sex before marriage, pornography, lust, theft, idolatry, murder, hate, and the list goes on forever! Well what about ourselves, do we identify ourselves with any of these things? I think for all of us the answer is yes. This is a disguise, we hide ourselves behind these things putting on a face everywhere we go yet we are living in constant sin! Why do we live behind this disguise, why do we identify ourselves and this World with these things? Is it because once we are a part of it we are ashamed? Are we scared of who we are becoming? Are we scared of God?

Rip off your disguise! I don’t think an individual will ever truly know themselves until they rip of their disguise! What they are hiding behind, what they identify themselves as! We were knit together in our mother’s womb, we were known by Our Lord before the world ever began! We are His children!

It’s time we start believing Our Identity is Who We are In Christ!

So let the Lord take you down to the river like a little child, don’t be afraid to take is hand and know it’s seriously okay to Be Wild! We’ll never know the world we live in until we see it through God’s eyes, and we’ll NEVER know ourselves until we rip of our disguise, and identify ourselves in Christ!

~Who Needs Air~

And to finish up! So often we are drowning and drowning in this world!! But SERIOUSLY WHO CARES cause when we got JESUS! WHO NEEDS AIR!!

This song has pulled me through every time I start to think negative, the second I start letting Satan’s lies creep in, and it reminds me that I need to jump into the river of His Love and not be afraid and Be Wild! And there is no better place to do that or to start than being right where He wants me to be! And step by step this trip will allow me to see the world through His eyes and to identify myself in Him and to constantly remember that It’s Okay To Be Wild!!
