“No Stop!! You’re not gonna change my mind, my family isn’t, my friends aren’t gonna change my mind, NOBODY is going to change my mind, God isn’t going to change my mind!! I’m going to be an actor!”
Oops, see the first step in what I did WRONG here was challenge God. Never challenge God!! Just take that little piece of advice, it may do ya some good in the future. That was a conversation I had with my best friend two years ago. She kept telling me, “God’s gonna do something to you, He is gonna rock your world in some way.” Yet I didn’t believe her.
Two months later, guess what, Jesus started movin in me. Being on stage I realized that theatre was no longer something I wanted to do! God laid it on my heart pretty soon after that he wants me to be a missionary.
So my plan was set, I was going to go to college to study to be a missionary. The decision of Concordia Seward or Irvine was all I had to make and I was already pretty much set on Irvine in California! It sounded like a great plan and that’s where I was set on going after lots of praying! All I had to do was apply!
But then in January of 2014 my youth leader gave me the idea of possibly taking a year off to do mission work. Long story short after lots and lots of praying I decided to go with the World Race Gap Year! After being accepted I have seriously never been more excited for anything! It’s gonna be hard, it’s gonna be great, and it’s going to challenge me in so many ways!! I’m ready for God to change me! I guess you can say I heard the mission field calling, or more like God calling me to the mission field along with many others and we are gonna get or socks rocked off by Jesus!
