Wow! September is racing up on me. I don’t know if I’ve ever been more pumped up. The Lord has been teaching me a lot in these last few months. Trials suck, but that is where we are given the opportunity to grow into a true follower of Christ. It is never easy but we should thank God when he allows us to go through hardships. I say this not to make light of anyone’s hard times, but it is when we realize how fragile we really are, is when we reach out to someone waaaaaay bigger than our problems. Those sobering moments in life make us check ourselves, our motives, and where we are really headed. "But pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world." –C.S. Lewis
Things To Be Done On The World Race
1) Break my previous record of 5 days without a shower (there is a good excuse for this)
2) See how long I can run on no sleep
3) Wear out my nalgene bottle
4) Eat some ethnic food that makes me want to gag but smile and pretend it is delicious
5) See some crazy wild animal like a lion or cheetah and live to tell the tale (maybe deal with the lion Benaiah style)
6) Unashamedly sprawl out on the airport floor, slobbering and snoring, because I am so spent.
7) Have my bible become tattered, dirty, and barely holding together because it has been everywhere with me.
8) Refer to my tent as “Home”
9) Eat so much Haitian sugar cane I get a stomach ache (I promise this one will be done)
10) Learn to always put myself second
11) Not take myself so serious
12) Drink pepto-bismol like it is water (not excited about this, just being a realist)
13) Be overcome with excitement at the sight of a real bed
14) Become completely sold out for God
