As we go from door to door, we ask the same question to everyone, “Do you know Jesus Christ?” We have gotten a few yes’s and a lot more no’s. Mostly we have met Muslim people. I don’t know if there are more Muslims or if God is just guiding us to their houses.
Whether Christian or Muslim, all have given the same answer that they have been such since birth. I have begun to see a strange understanding of what faith is here. After asking numerous other Christians their testimony they all say, “Well I was born a Christian or Muslim.” One thing I do know is whether you are born on the altar of the church or in the alley behind the bar, Jesus saves.
We met two Muslim women yesterday, both from birth. The first graciously listened to us talk about what we were doing and about the The Way. But you could tell that she was uncomfortable and not really listening. So she ended the conversation with thank you and wouldn’t allow us to pray for her. So we moved on and walked until we came to a lady sitting outside of her home.
A Muslim woman as well, sitting in the shade on an old worn out pad. She looked tired but welcomed us like all the other very hospitable Africans do. They gathered all their chairs and allowed us to sit down with them. After explaining who we were and about The Way we asked if we could pray for her. She accepted but she said we needed to go inside her house to do so. She explained that she has had stomach pain since her last childbirth as well as head pain. We prayed for healing over her and she felt no pain when we left, Jesus seemed to have healed her.
I don’t know if she was healed, I pray that she truly was. But more than that I hope she see a loving God who wants to heal, and heal more that just the physical but to heal hearts. We get the amazing honor of going out, stopping at random houses and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. We have no great stories of any being saved, but it isn’t our job to save. It is our job to love God, love others, and share the great news of Jesus Christ.
