Moldova was one of my favorite countries and favorite months of the Race. It was also a tough month with many tough lessons learned, most of which came as a result of breaking my arm.
But it was still an incredible month! We lived in a village for the first couple weeks. We went to a preschool, played with the kids after mass, among other things. Halfway through the month, we moved to Chisinau, the capital city, and did Unsung Heroes. Unsung Heroes is a great opportunity for teams to find new ministry contacts for future AIM teams.
We met several great people focused on bringing the Kingdom to Moldova. Our team had the incredible experience of visiting one of these ministries for a week. We spent a few days at the only Christian school in Moldova. The students were awesome and we enjoyed sharing about the Race, answering questions about America, and teaching a few English lessons.
What truly made Moldova great were the people. We met a priest who loves his village and wants to unify the Christians there. The teachers at the school were not only focused on teaching the students, but also loving them. And we meet American missionaries who welcomed us into their home and encouraged us in many ways.
Now we are in Antigua, Guatemala, which is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been! I’m looking at a volcano as I write this! I have spent this week in schools teaching a Christian values class with our contact and a few others on my team! More about Guatemala to come in my next blog!
