Hello from India! I, along with the rest of G Squad, have been in Andhra Pradesh, India for nearly two weeks! This has been a great month so far and I’d like to use this blog to give you a picture of what life looks like for me in India.

This month my team is joining forces with Team PAC to serve the children at Sarah’s Covenant Homes. SCH is home to several children with a variety of physical and intellectual disabilities. In addition to providing a loving home for these children, SCH also reaches out to widows by providing them with jobs.

Each afternoon and evening, we visit the SCH home and have already done a variety of things. We have spent a lot of our time hanging out with the kids. Whether it is listening to music or playing with their favorite toy, the kids’ faces always seem to light up upon our arrival. A highlight for my team and the kids alike has been a trip to the park. Throughout the month, we will go to the bakery and even the beach! I will certainly be posting pictures as they come!

This month is an “all squad month”, meaning that our whole squad is living together under one roof. Our accommodations are basic, but provide us with plenty of space to move around and find a spot for alone time when needed.

Our mornings are pretty unstructured since our ministry is the afternoon and evening. Many days have started with breakfast followed by a Bible study with my team. Afterwards, I have either done laundry (hand washing again this month) or gone for a run. One of the perks of our lodging this month is that we live next to a decent sized field where we can run. It has been great bonding with different squad mates while running each day.

As we move through the last two weeks of this month, I’ll write more about my experience at SCH including stories about the children we are serving, Indian culture, and what I am learning from it all.

Thank you for everyone that has been praying for my team and I. Please continue to pray for health and energy to keep up with all the kids this month!

I’d also like to thank everyone who has given a financial gift to this ministry! I am excited to announce that over $12,000 has been given so far. I am amazed by your generosity and I thank you for not only investing in what God is doing in my life, but in the lives of others in 11 different countries!
