Sorry this blog is a week late due to lack of wifi and my being forgetful.

It has officially been a full week of ministry and WOW God has shown me so much. Day 2 of ministry I was able to baptize a woman who didn’t feel forgiven for her sins, Day 3 my team and I were able to pray her a woman and bring healing, and Day 4 we tried to spread the Gospel to a Sangoma (Witch Doctor).

Although I could tell a story for all of them I want to focus on one of them.

At training camp we we taught a message about healings and it was new for me. Not in a way I’ve never heard of a healing but I have never experienced a healing. I was asking God to speak to me but I didn’t hear anything. Then our first days in Africa I got chest pains + a cough, I struggled to ask my team for prayers but was able speak up and ask them to pray over me. At this moment I realized I was scared to first hand experience a healing. I didn’t know where to go with this but I had a conversation with one of my team leaders about it. She encouraged me to pray about and was going to talk to me later after taking it to God. The next day we were going out for ministry in a community called Diepsloot. Our ministry is called Outreach, and we basically talk with locals with hopes of sharing the Good News of Jesus. One of the first woman we spoke with had pains in her legs and could not stand without being in pain. Jo, a girl on my team, shared the story in John 5 where the man was ill for 38 years and could not walk. I asked if we could pray over her, for healing in the name of Jesus Christ. She felt less pain and started to move her legs a little. Then Jo asked to pray over her. After that second prayer I asked if she believed Jesus has the power to heal, and if so to stand up in confidence that she can be healed through the name Jesus Christ.

John 5:8

Jesus told him, “stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”

This was my first experience with healings and I learned God does not speak to me through words but through situations of obedience. He told me to have faith in Him and to be obedient to His plan.

Also since this is a week late I have had another full week of ministry in a new community called Plot 89. This was a small community filled with many amazing and curious people. There was a family that we visited day 1 and were able to just talk with them for a minute, have some laughs and invite them to the local church. When we went back the next day the people we talked to weren’t home but there was a man named Derek outside that we started talking with. As we were speaking with him 3 others joined the conversation, 2 of them following along in their own bibles. After they asked some tough questions about Heaven and Hell, how God is good when one loses their family, and the way you get to heaven. I was so blessed they asked questions because the hardest thing about doing ministry is when people say yes to everything you ask and don’t have any questions of their own. So we answered the questions the best we could then prayed over all of them.

It was truly an amazing moment that God was able to speak through me to reach those people.

I LOVE YOU ALL AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
