Wow, it has already been over a month of being back in the US. It is crazy how fast time flies by. Some days I wake up and wonder if I ever even left the country. But then God reminds me with beautiful pictures all the things He did over the past year. As promised in my coffee blog, I wanted to update you on what my next step is in that direction.
As some of you know, I have a vision and passion to start coffee shops as a conduit for the Gospel to be made known to people, people who might not even visit a church. Over the past 3 years this has been something the Lord has been developing piece by piece. During the last 5 months of the World Race I have been praying specifically for that next piece, and Praise God I can officially say that in October I will be moving up to Wisconsin Dells, WI to join the Bella Goose team.
This is a team of likeminded people who have already started a non-profit coffee shop and will be launching their second shop in the Philippines soon. Bella Goose is partnered with Wipe Every Tear, an anti-human trafficking organization focused in the Philippines, and will be opening a coffee shop there to employ those girls that are being rescued. They have asked me to come alongside them in expanding the Bella Goose Roastery, where I will be trained as a master roaster, and join their corporate team in opening up more stores all over the world.
This is an incredible opportunity and one that incorporates so many of the stirrings He has placed on my heart; coffee, discipleship, international students, and fighting human trafficking being just a handful of them. I can’t even begin to describe how grateful I am that the Lord has brought me here. I just got back from visiting the area and meeting the team that I would be working with. Over the next week after arriving back in NC I began asking God if He wanted me there. Instead of just giving me peace, he gave me a passion for being a part of what He is doing up there!
This brings me to my next point: part of my salary will need to be fundraised by my friends and family. The Lord has asked me to enter into another season of support raising.
