Hey everyone.
It’s been a while so let’s just get into it. As I sit in this coffee shop waiting to go to Colombia I was trying to think about what to write about and honestly, I could pick a number of different things but I want to talk about something that the Lord has been stirring up in me for a while, long before I came out here and even more now that I’m going home soon. That is the state of Christianity and the church in America. Let’s be honest, churches in America are dying and it doesn’t take a genius to notice how our culture looks at Christians in general. Lies and perversion run rampant from the pulpits every Sunday morning or whenever churches decide to meet each week. Pastors are moving entire churches off strictly emotion and no scripture. We have churches filled with cupcake ministry, false gospel, and lying preachers. We have churches filled with people listing to bad doctrine because nobody wants to check to see if what they are being taught is biblical because if it makes them feel good then its gotta be all good right?? Churches more focused on looking like a circus than preaching the word of God. Circuses ran by prideful clowns that if Jesus himself showed up and wanted to talk to their church they wouldn’t even step off the stage and hand him the mic. The ego has consumed the pulpit in America. Churches are more concerned about not offending people and filling the seats than they are about keeping it real and teaching biblical Christianity. Everything is based on emotion in our society and that, of course, has carried over into the church. We want to hear a sweet message every Sunday that makes us go home feeling good. We want to hear something that makes us feel ok about the sinful nature we continue to stay in. Nobody wants to feel any sort of conviction and when a pastor does decide to keep it real and talk about some stuff that may cause you to check ourselfs we want to run because we didn’t like how it made us feel. So instead of reaching a breakthrough, we run away from the very thing we needed to hear and be taught. Listen, if you base everything off emotions then the enemy is going to know exactly what to give you and he’s going to feed you everything you like. That’s why we as the church can’t expect to just go into a building every Sunday, hear a message, and then go on our way. We have a responsibility to check what we were just taught and study it on our own as well. As well as devoting time daily to seeking the Lord. Don’t let the rise of apathy in our society come in and snatch your vitality away from you.
The enemy spends all day every day trying to bring you down and distract you. 168 hours a week hes coming at you in every way possible and we walk around and think a little bible time here and there is enough or just going to church for 1 day a week is enough to fight back. Haha man, we have been trippin, myself included. Trust me if anyone went through the motions of Christianity it was me and I did it for far too long.
I believe that the church in America is in crisis and not just because of false teachers but because of the number of soft believers we have out here. Everyone wants to talk about revival this and revival that but true biblical revival isn’t going to come to America without our intense prayer, repentance, and gospel preaching. If you’re paying attention to anything that is going on in the world including America you can get a real sense that it’s is ok to be anything but Christian, Yeah, we have our religious freedom over in the States, for now. What will you do when that starts to be chipped away at? Will you fight for what you believe in? What will you do when a time comes when it’s not ok to be a Christian? True persecution hasn’t came to the states yet but one day It will. So many of us are worried about a little social persecution or some troll on social media talking bad about us for repping Jesus. Point your fingers and laugh, I promise I’ll tip my cap and smile back. I’m not worried about some lame hiding behind a keyboard when I’m aware of what’s coming down the road. More of us who claim to be Christians need to start stepping up and being bold. Don’t be scared of who you represent. You are a son or daughter of Jesus Christ and that carries weight in any hood. So act like it.
We need to open our ears and eyes and really pay attention to what the word on the street is about Jesus. “ Who do the people say the Son of Man is” Matthew 16:13. What’s the word on the street? What are your family and friends saying? What are your coworkers and people you pass daily saying? “ Well, they replied, Some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.” Matthew 16:14. See, you can have the right opinion of Jesus and still have the wrong understanding of Jesus. What do you claim? Who do you say Jesus is? Get in the mindset that persecution and attacks are going to come but you will never be destroyed. Even religious people denied Jesus. Will you? Or will you fight to expand his Kingdom?
A reminder that when you have Christ living on the inside of you the fire of God is on the inside of you. It’s up to us to keep that fire stirred up. We do that with prayer, the word, and worship. We can’t expect to stay warm if we don’t keep logs on the fire. We have to keep the fire going if we want to bring serious change to our nation and all over the world. It starts with our devotion. You were not made to be this timid,scared man or woman. You were made to be bold and full of courage. Remember whose side you are on. Are you fed up with people mocking Jesus? How can you have him living inside of you and sit back and be silent? Stand up for what you stand for. We still have free speech in our country use it!!! It is literally impossible to keep a Christian down if they are following Jesus. We can change the course of American Christianity together but we have to wake up and pay attention to what’s really going on.
I know this can be a sensitive subject to talk about and that’s exactly why we need to be talking about it. I believe that there will be some powerful moves of God ahead for us as a chruch. I really do. My question is do you want to be a part of that? Do you want to step into who you were made to be and seriously bring change to this world. We need you to go after your purpose. We need you to be who God designed you to be. We need you to stop standing on the sidelines and get into the game. The enemy doesn’t sleep and hes not going to stop. Each day his territory expands so what are we doing to stop it?? These are things we need to ask ourselves and these are things we must be aware of. Stop thinking you have time because you don’t. The time is now!! I know an army is rising up and I know that there are people like me who have this desire,this passion, this hunger to do something. It’s something I can’t ignore any more. I’ve ran from it for far too long. Being out here has reminded me who I am and what I have been called to do. What I have been made to do. Being out here has been great but it’s just the first step of many on the path to reaching purpose. So join the fight! We can bring change to this world together!
