Hello everyone.
Sitting here in this very moment I’m trying to figure out how to recap my first month on the race and in Cambodia. Not sure how this will go but lets just roll with it. Cool?
Blasting the recap in 3,2,1, gooo. Meeting 17 Strangers in San Fran, meeting more of them once we got to Cambodia,long air travel, sleeping in airports, training camp, teachings, activation,developing a new sense of boldness daily, thrown into a leadership role, the process of being molded into the man I was made to be, the man God has called me to be and doing this daily,Random orphanage on walks, Playing with younger children,soccer in the street, the slums, Cambodian churches, Daughters of Cambodia, Ms.Ruth, Darkness and pain, joy, happiness, and light. Reading a poem out loud, the I am game with team and squad, walked with a young woman as she excepted Christ as a form or encouragement, Laughed, cried,argued, fought with temptation, fought distractions, fought complacency, stomach issues.. oh the stomach issues, Street art, night markets, tasting snake, avocado and mango smoothies, flowers, bible studies with my team, tension with team, bonding with team, loving my team, growing with my team, grinding daily for Christ with my team, temples and sunsets, conversations with locals, long bus rides, bus debates, naps, heat, sweat, basketball, sharing some of my past, slowly opening up,crowded suv rides, tuk tuk drivers,hostel living, snoring, duck alarms,showing the love of Christ through our day to day walk, street food, fellow travelers, visions of the calling, visions of his plan, the struggle for personal space,sleepless nights,sunrises, early mornings, sweet silence, seeing how many times you can wear the same shirt before it becomes a problem for you and the rest of your team, thank you Jesus for Funk Away Spray. Just all the things. Ky, that one is for you.haha.
When I look up at that list and I know I could keep adding to it, I think where was God in all that and the answer is everywhere. Literally everywhere and everything. With me always, I am always with you is just what I am reminded daily from him. Gosh, that is just so cool to think about. He is always with us. Take a couple minutes to think about that. Right now, wherever you are Jesus is literally chillin right next to you like, hey! wanna hang out?? Ice cream?? Ill go get ice cream with you. I love ice cream. I am trying to put into perspective for you that he wants you to include him in your daily life. He longs to have a personal relationship with you. Just talk to him right now. Stop reading and talk to him. That’s all prayer is anyway is just conversation with God. I want to encourage you to step into a more personal relationship with him. Whether you go to church, dont go to church, whether you believe in God or are just starting out with maybe, possibly believing there is more to this life. Whatever the case may be I know God loves you and I know hes waiting for you to come to him, to just talk to him. He is a God of love and no matter where you are in life or what you have done his love for you has never changed and never will. He loves us so much that I won’t even attempt to put that into words because its impossible to express the love he has for us. So give it a shot, have a conversation with the big man, chop it up over some ice cream and see what happens .
Today I was reminded pretty clearly that even though I’m working on boldness daily and my personal relationship with God, I am not at a level of radical boldness yet and that the development of my personal relationship with him can be so much more. I was reminded that although I trust him I dont fully trust yet. I am bold but not bold enough. My eyes are open but not wide enough. I am overcoming fears but still timid. I must be become bold like a lion. The righteous are bold like a lion. I am reminded that I may have a sense of why but I dont fully understand the full reason I was created, my true purpose, the magnitude of my calling. That the destiny he has for me will come if I truly trust, listen,and obey. Stop being timid and become who I was designed to be. We should all strive for that daily. I am focused on these things and hopefully I’ll be ready for the tests he has for me so I can go to new levels. The levels hes wanting me to reach. I pray you are too.
I have personal relationships with a lot of you who read my blogs and I know there are some of you I dont know well or dont really have a personal relationship with but I just want to say that I am always down to talk and just because I’m over seas doesn’t mean I’m not able to talk to you. I want to be here for you and encourage you to become the best version of yourself and see you become who God made you to be. Just felt like dropping that little nugget in there. Just know the God had a great and amazing plan for your life and he wants to give it to you. But we must participate in that plan for it to come true. It’s a plan of great hope. It’s a good, great, and uncommon plan. It is not average or mediocre. Dont underestimate the potential God has put inside you.Seek it and cooperate with God. One more thing, just walk in love. Everything goes back to love, everything starts with love. I promise if you live a life full of love,focused on love, and striving daily to share love your life will begin to radically change.
