Life as a Missionary
Month 4…
I find my self living in a jungle in Malaysia
Monkeys in the front yard,
Working at a Palm Oil Plantation,
Sick for the second time
I’ve traveled for up to 81 straight hours
Spent 11 hours on a bus with no toilet
Taken no more than one shower a week for a month
Packed about 60 people in a house already packed with other missionaries for several days
Living on PB&J, Rice and Beans A LOT of the time
Cleaning up a trash filled school yard
Trimming bushes and shrubs
And Sleeping in Airports and Bus Stations to name a few more…
And then there is the other side of this…
Doing construction on Churches and Orphanages
Painting shoe shine boys boxes
Doing a church service at a village in the Mountains
Building relationships with locals
Living in a coffee shop
Teaching English
Being asked to play and sing a song on the spot at a church service with no guitar and only a piano that I can hardly play, But no ones can understand me so its all good!
Working in a rice field with villagers in the middle of nowhere Thailand
Seeing the Buddhist temples and seeing the differences in religion
Riding Elephants, Bamboo Rafts, playing in a waterfall, and a ton of other awesomeness that comes with being a missionary! Life on the field can deffinately be hard at times. But the lives we impact along the way are worth the illness, stress, other crud that tries to get in the way.
