Lord may my eyes be fixed on you, my thoughts be focused on heaven, and my heart be aligned with your Spirit. How do I begin to seek for heavenward treasures and make this world and its glitters fade away? How do I keep myself from the lure of temptations in this world?
By keeping my mind set on things above and by realizing that there is no greater reward than Christ Himself~ that in Him alone I find my very delight, my ever present hope, my fullness of joy. You are the answer I’ve been looking for!
It’s pushing through the part of your flesh that makes you feel like you don’t want to really pursue God with all that you are, and choosing to put nothing else in front of Him. Making the conscious decision to take time out of each day to get to know Christ intimately~ that’s where you’ll find true joy! The enemy does anything and everything to try and distract you. He tries to give you other things to do, and tells you that those things are more fulfilling, when in actuality~ those are the very things, if you let them, that keep you from being fulfilled.
Seek Him… Choose Him! At first it might be hard but before you know it you start to see passed the lie “that it’s not worth it,” and into the beautiful, exciting, adventurous life that He has for you as you walk alongside Him. It is then and only then that you begin to have life to the fullest, that you begin to have faith to believe beyond what your eyes can see, and that you can truly become the person that God has called you to be!
God has the very best in mind for us. He has plans that are more awesome than our wildest dreams! He has them for each one of us and He wants to bless us and grow us in ways that we could never even imagine. But God is a gentleman, and He is waiting for you to tell Him that you’re ready for Him to take you there before He does. He’s not just going to just give it to you~ because He want to do it with you. It’s a daily walk with Him, a relationship, a love.. What a love!
And to think that so many of us are searching high and low for this love. We are searching and searching, looking to find it in created things, when all the while we are missing that it is not to be found in the created, but rather in the Creator. He is the One! He is the Maker, the Giver, the Healer. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the Joy, the Hope, the Peace. He is love~ He is Jesus.
