Wow…we've got a lot to catch up on. I wish we had a chance to sit over some really good coffee or at a summer bonfire and catch up and for some of you maybe we will! But for now I hope this update helps.
Bri, Ezra, and I are currently on vacation with my family. They have made the trek down to Myrtle beach every year since I was in diapers. Crazy enough now I have my own child in diapers and we are loving time with family, the beach, and the pool! Even though we've been coming to this place for years there still is something so special about it. Time with family can never be taken for granted. Bri and I live in GA now so seeing my family from NY is a real treat. We laugh, joke, eat, play games, eat some more, swim, and soak up the sun. It's so good and reminds me of Gods grace and goodness on my life. I'm so blessed to have great parents, awesome siblings, a super cool grandma, and even some really great aunts, uncles, and cousins. My life is ridiculously blessed.
So…let's catch up. (and by the way…we are going to try our best to post at least 2 blogs per month. We realize the importance in keeping you as supporters and prayer partners informed as to what we are doing! It's been some really great stuff so here to goes!)
The last few months have been incredibly busy and incredibly fruitful. Bri wrote to you all last and let you know about our trip to Guatemala to train our friends Jordan and Sarah who we later launched to Cambodia. Both trips were amazing. We saw God move in such powerful ways and he confirmed some things that needed some solidifying in our hearts. The trip to Cambodia was very realistic. That's the best way I can describe it. Real. We went for just a little over 3 weeks and that was long enough for the trip to be good, bad, and ugly. We made great contacts, got sick, stayed sick for a few days, got better, worshipped in our hotel room, made some more contacts, got Jordan and Sarah settled in, drew up some plans for the future, and even got to dream about the future. The trip was great.
4 days after we got back from Cambodia I was on a plane again heading to Guatemala again. I was leading a trip with our Worship Track apprentices. The trip was focused around worship and intercession. We wanted to go to the bases we have in Guatemala and encourage the staff, worship Jesus, and do some ministry among the locals. The base leaders had wanted us to come and worship on the high places around the country. A majority of the high places in Guatemala still have some serious idol worship that happens on their summits. There are a few summits that are known for animal sacrifice to false gods and even rumor of child sacrifice. So you may see why the leadership wanted us to go to those places and just simply worship Jesus and bring his light to those places. It was powerful to say the least. We worshipped Jesus and prayed over the nation from those places. On our last summit we were joined by our President of AIM, Seth Barnes and another one of our senior leadership Clint Bolkelman, as well as 5 local Guatemalan pastors and their families to worship and pray together. The night ended with passionate prayers and even some tears over that beautiful nation.
So we are finally back on American soil for a while and trying to settle in for the summer and prepare for World Race training camp. I'll be leading worship all summer for training camps, trip launches, and staff worship. Bri and I will also team up and do some training with our Longterm department. I'm really excited to see how the summer unfolds. As far as Cambodia goes and our time frame let me catch you up…
We are still very excited about launching to Cambodia. After having a very eye opening meeting with our new Support Coach Jenn, we had to make some tough calls. We wanted to launch this September. Jenn let us know at the rate our support was coming in, September wasn't a realistic option for launching. So Bri and I had to take it to God in prayer and take a more realistic look at our timeframe. At almost the same time we were approached by the music producer that I had previously worked with on our Adventures music EP. Here is a picture of the album art.
He expressed his desire to work with us and develop even more of the worship voice of Adventures. The venture even opens up great possibilities for future music projects that I can take on with my personal music. So here's where we are…we are staying through the new year and plan to launch early 2015. We hope that pursuing music can also help us grow awareness to our mission and possibly financially benefit our ministry. During our time in the States we will be working hard on our support raising, music(both Adventures music and my own), and possibly growing out family!…we will keep you posted on any "developments." So that's where we are at. Pray for us. We love you guys and pray for you all often. Thanks for all you've done for us and supporting us in our journey.
Grace and Peace,
Josh, Bri, and Ezzy
