Okay, so sorry that it has been a while since my last blog, but time has been flying this past month! We have been having so much fun with the orphans, and another ministry that we got to be involved in this month was the red light district. I know this was a huge blessing for some of us on the team, because we had expectations of doing that in Thailand and when we didn’t get to we hoped that there would be another opportunity. And God saved it for the end!

The first time we went there our contacts wanted to take Josh and I to these two rooms that they had recently bought right on the street where all the CSW (Commercial Sex Worker’s) were located. Our contacts took us to the rooms and we all prayed about weather or not we felt peace about doing ministry in this area. As I walked into the cold dark room I could feel the spiritual darkness as well. So many women lost in darkness without knowing a better way… But as I felt the darkness I also felt the hope rise up within.. The picture came to my mind of a Light on a hill that could not be hidden, and the idea of when you’re in the dark and a candle is lit, you can see it from miles away~ and the only thing you want to look at in the darkness is the LIGHT!

It was so beautiful~ In the midst of the darkness there was so much HOPE! We prayed and as we prayed we felt an overwhelming peace and knew that this was a ministry that God wanted us to do.. The rooms were a mess~ the paint was chipping off, the dust was every where..
And we got to have the privilege of renovating the two rooms! We painted and Jacinda got to paint a beautiful mural.
Each day as we would come the women and their children would come and talk with us! They were so interested in what we were doing, and they seemed drawn by the light.
At the end, when everything was all said and done we had an inauguration and we invited the CSW’s to the event.
We gave a message, fed them, and then handed out sari’s to each one of them. (sari’s are the Indian dress) The women and children loved it!
This is one of the women who recently got saved, and she was sharing her testimony with the rest of them!
And here are all the women and some of their children~
This was the Pastor and his wife that work in the red light district everyday~
The rooms will be used in the morning to teach the kids about Jesus, and in the afternoon it will be a place where the women can come and learn new trades so that they can get out of the lifestyles they are in. There will be other women there teaching them how to sew and to make jewelry and all the while the gospel will be being preached!! It was so much fun, and so beautiful! Right in the heart of the red light district there was freedom and hope being planted!
