Training camp never ceases to amaze me. We have hundreds of World Racers come through our doors at Adventures for camp this week. I have the amazing privilege to lead these incredible radicals into God's presence through worship. Needless to say…I love my job.
It's always funny to me to see how Racers arrive..some are excited, some look a deer in the headlights, some are even plain scared. The unknown is always a bit nerve-racking. I remember being in those shoes. No clue what to expect, no idea what the world looks like, and nothing that feels familiar. Ok..I'll admit..it was terrifying. However, once training camp started, there was this peace that came over me. A peace that said I was right where God wanted me.
It's been a wild journey ever since but I'm so glad Bri and I said "Yes" to the Lord's call on our lives.
I think it's interesting how I view the Racers. They seem like such "newbies." They look young, scared, and out of sorts for the first few days. Just when you think..will they ever get it?…will they say yes to God?…will they dive all in?..we see and incredible change. Chains fall off their life. They experience God and the freedom he offers. Like a baby bird learning to fly, they step to the edge of the nest and jump. And guess what?…They Fly.
You see, we look at them just like the prophet of old looked at the Valley of Dry Bones. We see dead, dry bones..but God sees an Army. An army that needs some life breathed into it. As they open their hearts to God and the intense love he has for them, we see the great exchange happen. They trade in the old for the new. The bones become clothed in flesh. They come alive! God has this same desire for you. That you would become fully alive in him and rise up to the calling he has placed on your life. You may feel like dry bones..but don't forget..he sees a warrior.
Grace and Peace
