Hey everyone! We can’t wait to meet you guys in person, but until then, here’s a little bit about the both of us.
My name is Briana Rene, I’m 23. Josh and I have now been married for a year(May 23rd)! I grew up moving around a lot~ I’ve lived in Florida, Puerto Rico, Venzuela, Georgia, and Rochester,New York. ( I know, how’d I end up in New York of all places!) I am the 2nd oldest of 5 kids. I grew up claiming to be a “Christian” but I did everything the Bible told me not to do. God pursued me though, and I’m so thankful for that! I one day came to myself and realized how much I hated my life. I hated who I had become, the things that I had done, the relationship I was in, everything! I was a miserable wretch, and I some how knew the only answer was God. So, for the 1st time in a long time I asked God what He wanted me to do and He gave me this verse, “Seek God first, His Kingdom and His righteousness and then all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 and for the first time I REALLY heard what that verse was saying! Seek God FIRST, and then everything else will fall into place! Seek Him fist and He’ll help you clean up your mess, seek Him first and you’ll be filled, seek Him first and it will all work out! At that same moment I knew what I needed to do, I thought to myself- I need to go back to that Christian camp that I went to when I was a kid (CIRCLE C RANCH), because that was the one place I really saw God! So I told God that I was going to apply and if I got the job I’d give Him my life, but if I didn’t I wouldn’t because I didn’t know how to change. To make a long story shorter, I got the job, God radically changed me, and while that was the hardest summer of my life, it was the best summer ever! God had to strip me bare of all my sin, but it was so beautiful, because while it was so painful, I was willing, and as I repented of my sin I started to see God work in my life and hear God speak to me, and see Him answer prayer! It was so amazing! As I sought God first He really did make it all fall into place~ He rescued me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into His marvelous light! Not only did He rescue me, but He also poured out His blessings on me and made me a new creation, and gave me a new life, and a handsome godly man that is everything I ever dreamed of to the T and more! God is so good! If you don’t believe me just take any verse in the Bible and test it. Do what it says and see if you don’t get the results it promises! We can’t wait to go be His hands and feet! I was blind but now I see, I was lost, but now I am found! Praise be to God Almighty!!
Hey there everyone! This is Josh. I found God or should I say God found me at 18 years old and rescued me from religion. I grew up in an awesome Christian home with great parents who both love Jesus. I have an older brother and a younger sister. I have a great relationship with all of my family. I grew up in the church and played the role of “good” kid for quite some time. I went to a Christian high school that was affiliated with my church. Throughout the entire time at both places I saw so much hypocrisy that it really turned my heart away from the church and God. What I would later realize is that the majority of the hypocrisy I saw was in me! I was the phony! So I got to this place of emptiness and misery and I knew the answer and the way out was God. I remember the night very well that I told God that I needed rescue. Psalms 40 is one of my favorite Psalms. It says that “the Lord heard my cry and rescued me out of the filthy pit and set my feet upon the rock and established my way. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise. Many will see it and fear, and put their trust in Him!” I turned from my sin and embraced Jesus as the forgiver of my sins and the leader of my life! Praise Him! It was and will always be the best decision of my life. From that point he has lead my life to awesome places. He lead me to a Christian summer camp, where He would transform me even further and introduce me to my future wife Bri. It was at this camp that God confirmed the call to ministry that He had placed on my heart. Bri and I began dating after our first summer at that camp. We were engaged on our one year anniversary and were married 8 months later! God is soooooo good:) We are passionately excited to see where He is going to lead us. We felt that the World Race was the next step on our journey of Faith. Needless to say we are very much looking forward to this amazing opportunity and can’t wait to see what our awesome King will do! We are praying that His kingdom come and His will be done!
