This trip has been so incredible thus far. I am constantly
floored at the beauty of God’s church. We have visited so many different
churches and in each one we have worshipped alongside the redeemed of the
nations. This particular Sunday we were at a church in Los Angeles, Nicaragua.
The pastor gave an amazing sermon on the freedom we have in Christ. He spoke so
passionately and even though it was in Spanish, God really used the message to
prick my heart. He asked the congregation where our joy was? Do we truly find
joy in Christ? We are the free, saved, paid for, children of God! He said that
if we truly have experienced change it should be seen in our lives and in our
worship. The service was one of the most memorable services I have ever been
to. It always encourages me to see God’s love and Gospel reach to the ends of
the earth. His love has found a community here in Los Angeles and
transformation is taking place in the hearts and lives of the people.

The orphanage is such a sweet place. These kids are so awesome and have
really warmed up to us quickly. One little girl has even called Bri and I “mami
and papi.” After she said that me and Bri looked at each other and said, “We
aren’t ready for this!” It was so adorable though. Some of the older teenage boys have
opened up to Mac, Paul, Matt and myself. We play baseball in the afternoons
with them and have
worship and bible study at night. It is such a beautiful place. The
people, the place, the food, the community are all amazing and unique. It is a
slower pace of life here. People look out for one another. They eat meals
together, go to church together, watch each other’s kids, and hang out near the
lake. We feel so loved and welcomed here. I could get used to this place pretty
quickly
