Here is the story of a new friend…

“I was born into a Christian household with 2 older sisters. We had pretty good relationships and we always cared for each other. We always went to church, for as long as I can remember. This is not something that you find everyday here, it is pretty uncommon. Growing up in this environment I had a better understanding of right and wrong than most of my peers. Other kids were doing bad things in the world and I didn’t want to be a part of it. I tried to spend my time around Christian friends that loved Jesus and didn’t want to do bad things. It wasn’t always easy to find friends like this because there were so many worldly people. I was blessed with the few Christian friends that I had.

Life wasn’t always easy as a kid. When I was really young my dad and his brother were taken to prison and for two years they were tortured. My family always prayed for them though and one day God set them free. A little later in life my oldest sister was married to a man who was baptized, but did not submit to Jesus. When they had a child he did not care for the family. This was hard on my family and we were very sad for my sister, but we always prayed. Eventually, her husband left her and went to the states. She is still a strong Christian and God continued to provide for her. My other sister had really bad pain in her appendix, so we took her to a doctor to be treated. When we got there the doctor said any longer without treatment and she would have been dead, but God took care of her. In all of my life growing up God continued to be faithful, so I made the decision to be baptized when I was 17 years old.

One day when I was in church I saw that there was nobody to play the keyboard during worship, so I made the decision to attend a worship school. I saw this as a tangible way for me to demonstrate my love for God and meet the needs of my local church. At this worship school I learned all about why we worship God. I also learned what it looks like to worship through music. On top of that, I learned how to share the gospel and also Christian leadership skills. This school also provided a community that was immersed in Christian fellowship that I had not experienced before. I saw growth in my life everyday at this school. When I finished school I decided to work as a volunteer with the school so that I could continue to learn and grow so that I can be better equipped to lead others in the way of Christ. When I finish working at the school I hope to reach out to churches all over this country that have fallen away from Christ by pointing them back to Jesus through the gospel, submission in my own life, and true worship as it was at the Tabernacle of Moses.

All my life I have seen the power of prayer and I ask that you come alongside me in prayer as I continue to follow Christ. My mom is ill and prayer can heal her. There is a church that was only half built due to financial problems and prayer can influence progress in that. I also ask for continued growth in my own life.

Thank you.”
