And we are okay with that.

In case we haven't been able to tell you about it in person, Josh and I have decided to participate in a crazy journey called the World Race.  Starting in January of 2012, we will travel with a team to eleven different countries, spending about a month in each country, and living out of a backpack.  While there, we will be able to participate in ministries that could look like playing with children in orphanages, painting churches, befriending young women trapped in the sex trafficking industry, prayer walking through cities and villages, and so much more.

In preparation for this, we will be wrapping up our lives here in the states for the year we will be gone.  We will be selling most of our stuff, finding a foster home for our cats (if you know anyone who is willing to love them as much as we do, please let us know!), spending quality time with friends and family, and fundraising, fundraising, fundraising!  We need to raise $30,000 to cover our costs on the field, which includes travel and housing expenses.  It sounds like so much money, but we have the faith that since God has called us to this journey, He will provide the funds needed for us to go.  You can help support us by donating online by clicking the Support Us tab on the left hand side, or by mailing a donation to the Adventures in Missions office at:

You can also support us in prayer!  We are just at the beginning of this journey and have a long road ahead of us, but we are so excited about it.  We will be updating this blog for the next few months before we leave, as well as while we are overseas.  If you would like to receive email updates when we post a new blog, enter your email address in the Subscribe for Blog Updates box.

Lots of people have asked us why we would choose this.  The short answer is that Jesus was a homeless man who traveled around loving people, and that is what we want to do, too.
