We made it safe and sound to our 2nd African country, Malawi (another country change due to heavy flooding in Mozambique), and spent the month of March in the city of Lilongwe. Our ministry was door-to-door evangelism and church planting in nearby villages. We spent most days hopping in a van and traveling to a village on the outskirts of town or one in the middle of a cornfield. Our team split up into groups of 1-2 people and headed from house to house with a translator to see what God had in store.
We were blessed with seeing many people, young and old, come to know Jesus! The Holy Spirit’s presence was felt in mighty ways this month. When each of us was speaking or praying with a small group of local villagers we felt the Holy Spirit take over and say what needed to be said. Bekah and I both told each other frequently after the days were over that our words were flowing without any effort or preparation and we felt the Holy Spirit taking over each conversation and sometimes making his presence known in the physical as well. We are not gifted speakers by the worlds standards, but our hearts desire is to be used by the Holy Spirit and to be empty vessels for God.  There were a few times when we were not in a place where the Spirit had total control. If we had our mind elsewhere or our hearts consumed with other things we could run out of things to share.  We knew it was because we were speaking from our own strength and knowledge.
It is so clear, just like other areas of our lives that we are not sufficient and without God we run dry. When we had covered our time in prayer and had surrendered everything in our hearts and minds to God, words flowed out so smoothly and powerfully. All glory to God!

In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all People.  Acts 2:17

If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever Amen. 1 Peter 4:11
