Excitement flows through my mind as I write knowing there are 6 days left until I leave on The World Race. First, I want to thank those who have supported me whether through prayer or financial giving. Your support means a great deal to me and it has impacted my spiritual walk more than you can know. There have been nights when I struggled to believe this was God’s call for me. Every time I began to think those thoughts an e-mail notification or a text from a supporter would occur, driving the doubts away and refueling my belief that the World Race is where God has called me to be.
August 4,2018 is the day I have been waiting for since December 8,2017. This coming Saturday my parents will drive me to Atlanta,GA where I will meet up with my squad for launch. Launch is the time when the leadership will speak to us for a few days, making sure we have the proper documents on hand and give us a few last words of advice and guidance before they send us out August 6,2018 for our 1st mission to the Ukraine. Although I still have a lot of packing to do, I have a calm mind knowing that the Lord is with me and leading me. Even if I forget to bring my favorite Clemson hat or mossy oak crocs he will use me to share his love with others. It’s been an amazing journey leading up to this weekend, but Saturday, is just the beginning of a journey the Lord has planned.
Back in June, during our training camp, the leadership divided our Squad into teams of 7 people. I will live, worship, minister and share God’s love within each country with these men and women. Kayla Kincaid, Megan Small and Regan Horn are women of God and Matthew Alexander, Andrew Lewis and Josh Schulz are men who seek to be like Jesus. Just being around each of them gives me spiritual fuel and a desire to love the Lord even more. They treat me like a brother and I am grateful for their caring, outgoing, and wise hearts. At training camp I got to know them and though the time was short the way they talked, acted and worshiped encouraged me in my desire to be a strong Christian man. I honestly can’t wait to learn from these men and woman of God. I would encourage you to check out their blogs, subscribe to them and pray for them when you pray for me. As a team, we will face emotional, spiritual and physical trials and only through prayer and God’s love will we be able to get through them. So, I beg you to “PLEASE PRAY!”
Beginning next week, my communication on social media and texting will greatly slow down but I will be dedicated to blogging. Through this blog, I will share stories, prayer requests and financial updates. Please consider subscribing to my blog so you can receive updates immediately when I post. Your prayers and financial support have meant so much, I wouldn’t be where I am today if you hadn’t been willing. Thank you for giving! Thank you for praying!
