Hey everyone!
My name is Joseph Lindsey. I am 19 years old and am currently living in Houston, Tx. I am so excited to share that in September of 2017 I will embark on the greatest journey of my life so far. Throughout high school I was living very selfishly, and was always trying to have control over my life instead of leaving it in the Lords hands. I sought out for college, not because I actually wanted to go, but for the degree in general. A little ways down the road I moved into an apartment where I am currently living, and was for awhile just going through the motions. In this time I started to really focus on my relationship with the Lord, and soon realized that I wasn’t following the path he intended for me. Tho I have always felt a pull towards ministry, I never quite made the leap. College life and parties wasn’t for me, and I really thirsted for something more and a deeper relationship with the Lord. After searching and searching for that something more, I discovered the World Race, and knew almost instantly it was the right path for me. Through prayer and worship, God called me to the race. The World race gap year is a 9 month missions trip to 5 different countries on 3 different continents. The World Race is so much more than a mission trip, its an opportunity to be the hands and feet that Jesus called us to be, To step out of our comfort zone and trust in him. The Lord will guide my team and I from the Dominican Republic to the Philippines, leading us to a whole new spiritual realm that we have never experienced before to share his amazing gospel. Majority of these countries suffer from poverty, human-trafficking, HIV/ aids, and are in need of spiritual fulfillment. The World Race partnered with Adventures in Missions pairs with local organizations in our designated countries reaching out to those most in need, providing education in orphanages, manual labor, investing in sex trafficking victims, and ministering to those who haven’t heard the Gospel. This incredible journey begins in September of 2017 and will end in June of 2018. My team and I will be sharing the Gospel to:
- Dominican Republic
- Haiti
- Botswana
- South Africa
- Phillippines
So as you could imagine, I am more than excited that I have been given the amazing privilege and opportunity to serve on this journey. I will be preparing spiritually, mentally, and financially. This trip will cost around $15,000 in total, including travel, food, living, etc for the 9 months.
