Ephesians 4:1-4

I ,Therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;

Going into month one of the world race, I have to say I didn’t know what to expect. First off the travel day here to Medellin was one for the record books 🙂

It took us almost 46hrs to get here from Atlanta.

I wasn’t nervous at all going in, however I didn‘t know what to expect. Our  Ministry partner for the month was Ciudad Refugio. What an amazing first ministry to start the race!   Immediately I started to see God move!  Our first week we got used to our  scheduled ministry and in the process I heard the Lord say “press in deeper with me!”

They showed so much love to us even in just the few hours we’ve been here! On Wed January 9th we did Auga Panela for the first time. And I was blessed to be a part of it. What it is going out and handing out sweet sugar water and bread to the homeless/drug addicts (which  unfortunately most homeless are drug assicts as well) but we went out at 8:15pm and my experience with that changed my forever. I saw things I’ve never seen before. Homeless would be doing drugs while we were praying over them and explaining what the foundation offers as relief for them, if their are willing. It’s weird because normally I feel pain when I’m around the homeless because of what they have to go through, but I didn’t this time. All I saw was opportunity. I couldn’t speak to anyone but I could listen and make intercessory prayer for my team and the homeless.
My whole outlook on the church and the homeless has changed. It’s breaks my heart to hear what the churches here in Medellin think of the homeless. I was told that the homeless are cast out from the churches because they didn’t dress well and stunk.
That’s actually how this ministry got started. Pastor Douglas would go out and pray for the homeless and try and take them to different churches but was turned away. They said “we like what your doing but it’s not for us”

 As the month went on God just totally opened up my heart to what it means to love the church and be the “hand and feet” of Christ. God put it on my heart one day to just start getting to know the guys in the recovery program. These guys were all homeless at one point and stayed at the foundation before getting into the program. I’m just blown away by how much they opened up my heart to love and  acceptance.  God is so faithful and He’s always looking for willing hearts.

I’m going to continue walking in the anointing that the Lord has placed on my life because I see the change it brings for our hearts!

God  taught me  A very valuable lesson this month!  He taught me that I didn’t come on the Wolrdrace for adventure days but rather to grow in intimacy with Him. He has been so faithful in opening up my heart to him and hearing His voice inside of me. One of the more memorable parts of this month was when our whole squad went to a public school and talked about the Lord. I didn’t realize how much freedom I was walking in until I was able to get up in front of 35-40 10th graders and tell them the  affects of drugs and alcohol  I was able to them how much bondage the enemy was able to put on me from that. Even to the point of an overdose that almost killed me in 2014. But the most amazing part was after we all got through talking about 15 kids stood up and recurved the Lord!!  God is truly amazing and I can’t wait to see what He has in store for me next month!!

Here blow is a video on our  Ministry partner for month one  it’s amazing And I encourage you guys to watch it!  And I encourage you guys to watch it

Till next time! God bless
