SERVING GOD in a practical world

March 11, 2021 | by archiveworldraceblogs

John 10:27-30

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.  I and the Father are one.”

Some thing has been on my heart lately and I’d like to share it with you guys.  I feel like this blog is meant for quite a few people.
Our lives are dictated by the busyness that the world says we have to walk in.
How many of you wake up in the morning and throw on a pot of coffee and get ready for work?  Then, when its time to leave you head out for the day and rush around until its time to go home?  You get home make dinner  and spend some time with family and maybe scroll through social media to see what your peeps are up to??

Is there something more that we are called into?  I believe that our lives are not defined by qualities that the world says are important.  And the art of listening to the prompting of the Lords Spirit is dying.  Not because the Lord Himself is but because we have a church full of believers that aren’t willing to get into the harvest.  My friend John and I were in Haiti when God spoke to John saying “The fruit has already fallen, all you need to do is reach down and pick it up off the ground”

Matthew 9:37

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Jesus said these words after seeing crowds of people in need of healing and salvation. In Matthew 9:38, Jesus goes on to encourage the disciples to: “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest

Its so crazy to see the state of affairs in the church and the compromise that we chose to walk in, in the name of political correctness..

We no longer know what it means to drop our nets and become fishers of men.  The church is called to so much more then working and paying bills. Maybe living to retirement before eventually dying.  Morbid, maybe.  But none the less true.
So many people receive a calling over their lives from the Lord and because of unwillingness or rebellion, they never reach their full potential.  Its a shame because God searches the hearts of mankind looking for a YES in their spirit.  And to those that say yes as well as go forth, they receive the abundant life that Christ so wants for us here on earth.
The problem is we don’t trust God to provide our needs as we are walking out the calling that He has placed over our lives.  And because of that we suffer.

John 10:10

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

Jesus gave them this illustration but they did not grasp the point of what he was saying to them. So Jesus said to them once more, “I do assure you that I myself am the door for the sheep. All who have gone before me are like thieves and rogues, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If a man goes in through me, he will be safe and sound; he can come in and out and find his food. The thief comes with the sole intention of stealing and killing and destroying, but I came to bring them life, and far more life than before. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd will give his life for the sake of his sheep. But the hired man, who is not the shepherd, and does not own the sheep, will see the wolf coming, desert the sheep and run away. And the wolf will attack the flock and send them flying. The hired man runs away because he is only a hired man and has no interest in the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know those that are mine and my sheep know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I am giving my life for the sake of the sheep.

Jesus gave His life so that we could walk in calling.
He gave his life that we could love others the way He loves the Father.
He gave His life so that we might be made whole.
He gave his life so that by His strips we are healed.
He gave His life so that we might have peace.
Most importantly He gave His life so that we might be reconciled to the Father through eternal life and forgiveness of sin.

How many of us live a life worthy of our callings VS how many of us conform to the patterns of this world?

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

If your not listening the Voice of God in your life trust me your gonna listen to the voice of the world.

I heard this today in my prayer time.
“Don’t ignore the desires that the Lord has placed on your heart. And don’t be afraid to step out into faith on things that your heart knows is the right way but the world says isn’t practical.  Be bold and trust the Lord.  Seek the Lord and He will make your path straight.  Don’t compromise on what He has called you into because of a strangers voice or fear.  God has a plan for you and His plan is better then your plan.”

Its hard to say no to the world and what it says we have to do to be considered successful.  But God just calls us out into faith and dependence.  He just wants us to trust Him and believe that He can provide what we need as we walk in His purpose.  I see an issue is the way we see “need” and really that our definition of need is skewed from the Fathers way of providing.

1st Chronicles 5:20

They were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into their hand; for they cried out to God in the battle, and He answered their prayers because they trusted in Him

Are you hearing something from the Lord that seems crazy?  Don’t ignore something simply because it seems unlikely not practical in the worlds eyes.  Listen, I’ve traveled the world and personally seen the Goodness of God in the land of the living through obedience.  Trust me..  God is able.
