This past week I went on the “man hike” before training camp for the race had started.  Going into the hike, I was all set to go with the squad and route I was initially on.  After we got to where we were staying for the night, they announced that they need 3 men from the squad I was on to switch over to another route.  As you could imagine, everyone was pretty reluctant to switch, since they have grown to know and love the people on their current squad, me being one of them.  Since nobody was stepping up to switch on their own they gave us some time to pray about it.  During that time in prayer I felt a small whisper that I should switch over to the other route.  I didn’t want to switch because I heard that because I didn’t know if it was just me talking to myself, so our squad decided to let it up to random chance.  If the Lord wanted me to switch he would have me be one of the ones to be picked.  After telling them we were going to let it up to “random” picks they filled a bowl with Reese’s puffs, 3 chocolate (the ones to switch) and 6 peanut butter (the ones to stay).  When we chose our pieces, the whisper I thought was me turned into the Lord changing my family and my route!!  It was a big lesson for me to really just follow the things I hear when I am in prayer with Christ and trust that is for my greater good.  I know the Lord has so many things in store for me on my new route and the people im serving with.  I have already grown to love the people on my new squad and feel extremely privileged to serve with them.  By the way, HERE IS MY NEW ROUTE!!!:
