Well, what can I say about Botswana? It was interesting to say the least. We were with one other team at a ministry called Love Botswana. They have a wide array of things within the ministry that they offered and that we got to be apart of. On weekdays, me and one of my teammates got to work at an orphanage with 8 amazing little children who provided so much laughter and heart warming moments to my month. Unfortunately, but understandably so, I cannot use any names or post any pictures of the children due to privacy of the ministry. But that does not take away from the impact those kids had on my heart.
For the first two weekends we were there, both of our teams went to villages for the weekend to do evangelism, one that was about 6 hours away and one that was about 3 hours away. The bus rides were, let’s just say, interesting. Both villages had something amazing in store for my team and I was able to take away something huge from each village. The first village our translator, Seho, prophesied over me about some relationship things and where God was leading me with it, and it ended up coming to fruition the very next day. We also met a 103 year old woman, who was blind and bed ridden, and her daughter who were both huge encouragements to us all.
The next weekend was just an incredible weekend all around, and one of the highlights of the entire trip for me, which will be an entirely separate blog that will include: people coming to Christ, a healing, and casting out demons.
Botswana was a really weird month for me. It just flew by so quick. There was definitely some hard parts to it, but those were mainly due to my own personal bad attitude at times and you’re naturally going to have some frustrations when you put 15 people in one house. It was just weird though to go to those villages and do all the evangelism and things of that nature and then come back and hang out in an orphanage and watch Bob the builder. Ministry wise, it was kind of all over the place, but looking back on it, there was so many things that impacted me that month. From washing feet to playing with caterpillars with a 6 year old, Botswana, despite not being my absolute favorite month, has absolutely stolen a piece of my heart and has impacted me in huge ways. This blog is ver vague, but I will be writing another one regarding the 3 things that impacted me the most there, which will be a little more extensive than this one. I am really excited to share it with you, so stay tuned. God bless!
