Mission Trip to Belize with my Church – LACPC Hillside Ministry

Two weeks ago I flew down to Belize with a team of 17 from my church for a week long mission trip. It was my third time going down there to Prayer Mountain, to serve with the ministry Missionary Han has been running for the apst 20+ years. We ran VBS, a youth retreat, and medical ministries for the local villages. What keeps bringing me down there are the kids I've grown to love and the relationships I've built with them. I love them dearly.

Two of my girls, Amy and Daniela, from Belize. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!

WORLD RACE TRAINING CAMP in Atlanta

After a week in Belize, I left my team to fly directly to Atlanta for the World Race Training Camp. This was AMAZING.

I was learned so much, experiencing so much, by day 2, it already felt like we were there a week. Everything was packed in tightly for 7 days of extreme prayer, worship, spiritual training, and team-bonding. We learned not to have expectations on the trip, because expectations only limit the power of God.

One of these expectations was my future plans after the race. Very early on in the week, God told me to be open to letting my goals go. He said, "Jo, you gotta be open to whatever my will is for you." I said anything God, I surrender all.

Then He told me He might use me in missions for a longer unknown period of time. Now one of the purposes of this year long missions trip was to see if God wanted to guide my life in towards mission work, to see if He had long term plans for me in the missions field. But at training camp when He told me He might really do it.. it scared me.. a lot.

So I will be praying and seeking His will for my life over the next year, trying to be open and completely surrendered to it. To have no expectations, and let God work. Maybe it'll take the whole year, maybe it'll take a month. All I know is that God told me, "Jo, I have so much greater plans for you in your life than even your highest goals." This really humbled me and I couldnt be more excited for it.

my wonderful I-SQUAD. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH TOO!! these are the 60 people I will be going to each country with.
