Hey everyone!
This July I am leaving on a mission trip called The World Race (it is not really a race). It is a mission trip to 11 different countries in 11 months. Here is where I will keep everyone updated about everything going on before & during the trip. But I want to tell you all about what this trip and, and answer the questions you might be asking. Above is my promo/support video for all you haven't seen it.

What is the World Race?
This is not a vacation around the world. This trip is about abandoning all comfort to reach the "least of these”. Everything I will bring with me for the whole 11 months will fit in a 65L backpack. I will go into these nations, live where they do, eat what they eat, and experience REAL places, REAL people and REAL pain. This could mean sleeping in tents, pooping in holes, and showering in buckets. My squad consists of 50+ people, but once in the country we separate into our teams of 6-8 people.

What will I do?
Ministry differs from place to place depending on the need. I could be working with street kids, caring for orphans, working with woman in sex-trafficking, building houses/churches/schools, visiting hospitals, feeding the poor, teaching English, community development, HIV/AIDS education, developing churches and ministries, and just helping the need we see, which could lead to endless ministry opportunities.

Where will I be going?
Honduras
Nicaragua
Costa Rica
Uganda
Rwanda
Kenya
Thailand
Cambodia
Philippines
India
Nepal

The places we will stay could range from venturing to the most rural villages where they have never seen a white person and have no electricity or running water – or in the midst of the city.

Why?
Wow, there are a lot of reasons. One is to find out who I am, stripped of all material items and all comfort. To see and experience a raw and totally dependent relationship on God. To experience the real world, its real people, and its real pain. To build an opinion of the world from my own raw experience and not newspaper headlines. To be changed.  But the biggest reason is to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to restore hope, the same hope that was restored in me that saved my life some years ago.
– touch the untouchable-reach the unreachable-love the unlovable.

How much $$$ ?
The cost of the trip is $15,500 –yea, I know. The big bulk comes from all the traveling. But I will actually just be living on a couple dollars a day. This money covers everything – food, lodging, air, land, and sea travel, and mostly everything else. The only things that are not including are my supplies, vaccinations, and travel insurance. My goal is $20,000.

Donating
If you’re feeling a tug to support me financially then… AWESOME. You will become a key part of this ministry. I know times are tough, but even just a couple dollars helps- heck a couple dollars pays for a whole day of my food and shelter.  There are a couple ways you can donate. Here is the link https://www.adventures.org/give/donate.asp?giveto=worldrace&desc=For%20Jordyn Sheffield

1. Online
You can donate online by credit card. This is great.  A percentage of the donation will be taken out for credit card processing fees.

2. Mail
In this mailing option, your whole donation will go towards me and none comes out for credit card fees.
