Hello hello from Antigua, Guatemala!

This month, my team and another team are living at the new AIM base in Ciudad Vieja, Guatemala with our awesome hosts, Carol and Craig Hill. We will be partnering with AIM all month to find Unsung Heroes in and around Antigua! Unsung heroes are people who are already doing ministry and making a difference in their community. These people could be feeding the homeless, working with hospitals, or any number of other things that bring Glory to the Kingdom. We want to find them, walk alongside them, and hopefully establish a relationship with them that will open up the opportunity for other World Race teams to serve with them in the future. Unsung Heroes is such a cool way to do ministry because it means we literally have to rely on the Lord to provide us with information and connections to find these people. Practically, this looks like a bunch of prayer, researching ministries online, talking to people all over the city, and being bold in asking for leads. It’s stretching, but exhilarating all at the same time!

The other aspect of ministry this month is called ATL or Ask the Lord. On ATL days, we go into the city with no agenda, and we become the hands and feet of Jesus. We pray that the Lord will lead our steps, we talk to strangers, and we become vessels for the Holy Spirit to move. This aspect of ministry is definitely stretching because it requires full reliance on the Holy Spirit.

We’ve already seen some cool events unfold as we dive deeper into ATL. I went into the city with 3 of my teammates and we ended up finding new friends all over town! We took the time to talk to those who normally remain unseen, and the results were incredible.  We talked to the ladies who sell goods on the streets, shop owners, backpackers, and anyone else who would talk to us. I’m excited to form relationships around the city as I live here this month, and I cannot wait to see the goodness that the Lord will bring through these relationships. I cannot wait to tell the stories of my friends here in Antigua. I cannot wait to explore this beautiful city to the fullest.

I have a feeling that God will move in huge ways this month, but I need YOUR help in this process! We’ve searched the internet far and wide for ministries around us, but by this point we are only finding familiar names. If you or a friend has ever served in Guatemala in any capacity, please contact me and let me know the name of the ministry! We want to come alongside them and provide them with all the help they need in the future. We want to give them the push to keep going and keep serving in the name of the Lord. We want to encourage them in any way we can! If you know of anything, email me, text me, or Facebook message me! I would love to hear from you!

Thanks in advance for the help and God Bless! I’m excited to continue ministry this month!
