“So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.” Matthew 28:5

I began my morning today by going over the spiritual readiness for fundraising Bible study provided by the World Race. Today’s study was on rejecting a spirit of fear. This study hit close to home with me as I have been mustering up the courage to start my big fundraising plans. God keeps placing ideas in my head and my heart to aid in my fundraising, but I have been paralyzed with fear when taking to initial leap to get them going.

What if no one cares? What if people don’t read my posts? What if people don’t feel inclined to give??

These questions and others constantly roll around in my head as I think about fundraising, but I have to tell them no, God can do this.

As many of my friends know, I am slightly obsessed with SheReadsTruth. (If you don’t know what that is, it is a devotional app/website for girls that continues to speak so much truth into my life. If you haven’t already checked it out, I highly recommend it– there’s a HeReadsTruth too!!) And so, in light of Easter, SRT is doing a series on encounters with Christ following the resurrection. I started the series today because I accidentally got too busy yesterday as I was headed for the beach for my spring break (praise the Lord for much needed vacations!!)

The message today talked about the scene as Jesus rose from the grave. The ground shook, the stone was rolled away, and an angel sat on top of the stone and declared that Jesus was not there, He has RISEN. What an exciting scene!! So how did people react to such a sight?? They were afraid. The guards who were standing at the tomb were so afraid that they became like dead men, however, the women at the tomb were described as being “afraid yet filled with joy.” As I continued to read the story and the commentary with the devotion, I could not help but think back to my own journey as I fundraise for the World Race. Yes I am afraid, but God has called me to this amazing journey with Him though fundraising and being His hands and feet around the world so How could I not be filled with JOY?!

Today, I am thankful for God’s hand in my life. Today, I’m thankful that God still uses me despite my weaknesses. Today I’m going to take a leap of faith.

In order to raise some money for my trip, I’ve had some cool shirts designed. They look like this:

I love love love Patagonia and I would order everything they make, so I decided to make a shirt that looks like the logo. It also happens to be my favorite colors as well! They will be printed on gray comfort colors, which means they’re super soft and cozy, but they may run a little big!

My prayer for these shirts is that you would choose to support me through buying one. Think of me as you wear it. Pray for my journey as you wear it. Share my story as you give one to a friend. The shirts will be sold for $20 each, but you are welcome to give a larger donation if you would like! 100% of the proceeds of this will go to my trip because my amazing, wonderful, and gracious parents have offered to buy all of the shirts from the tshirt company! You can purchase one by donating your amount to my site and filling out this Google form with your name, size, and quantity!

I will be ordering shirts within the next month, so they will be here soon! I just want to give everyone enough time to order!

Thank you for reading this long post! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or maybe even if you just want to talk (:
