I knew when I signed up for The Race I would be called to do things I had never done. Although I have to admit, I never imagined playing a full-band worship set at a bar in Thailand to an audience of prostitutes and the men buying them.

We were blessed with the opportunity to play whatever we wanted on a Saturday night in the middle of Bangla Rd. We were given three microphones to shout the truths of Jesus to all within earshot on that busy street. The stage was set for the Spirit.

Our front-man, Curt Devine, who is our resident R Squad worship leader, has lots of experience playing live shows; I have none. I have also never picked up a bass guitar in my life until 30 minutes before our gig started. Thankfully, it’s noted the same as a guitar, and though my playing leaves a lot of room for growth, PTL, I made it through the set.

It was an amazing thing, bringing the Kingdom to a bar in the middle of the sex-trafficking capitol of this country. The Spirit rushed through that place, and people praised God as if we were in the comforts of our churches back home.

Thank you Father for an opportunity like this!
