In January 2015 I went on the World Race which is 11 months in 11 countries. I was back in Canada for 4 months and God called me out again to serve for 6 months as an Alumni Squad Leader for an Expedition Squad. I finished that in September, but had a bonus month in America at the AIM base in October. Here I got to debrief and help out at a Training Camp. I was on the training team and spent 10 days training up an Expedition Squad leaving in January.

During my time there, God asked me, “Jordan, what do you want to do this next year? Where is your heart at?”

I sat quietly and pondered these questions. My heart was in different places at that time from it being a transitional period. I was thinking a lot about my squad on the field as well as what life back in Canada holds.

I began to make a list of things my heart desired.

1. I desire mentorship. But not just a student-teacher relationship. A father-son relationship.

2. I desire redemption. I learned a lot from leading this last year and I want an opportunity to put the things I learned into practice.

3. I desire to step out of my comfort zone in the area of evangelism and spiritual gifts.

Now with all these things my heart desired, there were two places I could think of to find them. Back home in Grande Prairie or on the mission field again with World Race Expedition. So to best answer the question of “Where is my heart truly at?” I knew that is was to go back on the field.

Back in 2013 I was in Uganda and God gave me a vision for my life. It was of David and his 30 mighty men who were elite warriors and really cool exploits. In the vision, I was David and had a team around me of elite warriors who knew who God was, knew who they were in Christ, knew their gifts and how they worked together in a body. We went around the world from country to country evangelizing and planting churches.

Last year leading a World Race Expedition squad was a small taste of that bigger dream. It gave me more experience and knowledge for what to do in my future. So an opportunity arose while I was at the training camp to be an Alumni Team Leader for the Expedition Squad heading out in January (the same one I helped train!). I prayed about it and felt a lot of peace and joy about it, and gave my “yes” to my squad mentor, Chris Scott.

What this position is, is on the World Race, people are chosen from within the squad to lead a smaller group of 4-6 people. I was a team leader for the last 4 months of my first trip. But with an alumni team leader, (someone who has already done the Race before) they are there to model what it looks like to evangelize, disciple and if it so happens, plant a church. Jesus’ model of discipleship looked like Him doing the stuff, showing His disciples how to do it, then sending them off to do it themselves. We are trying to do the same thing. There has been alumni squad leaders before, but this will be the first time trying out alumni team leaders.

I will be heading down to Atlanta for more training on Jan. 4th and will be leaving for my first country on the 11th. I will be going to Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. Once we land there, it will be all overland travel. We do this because the focus isn’t to get to the next ministry site as soon as possible, but to live missionally where ever we go. The world is our mission field!

Ways You Can Help!

Gear

I am in need of new razors. Both the one for my face and one for my head no longer function properly. So if you don’t want to see me with a giant beard or head of hair again, you can help support me in that. 😉

Also a new lighnining cable to charge my iPod.

Financially

The cost of this trip is $9000. Bonus for Canadians is that the World Race now has tax receipts for Canadian donors. It’s a new thing, so if you are a Canadian wanting that, message me on Facebook or at [email protected] and I will send you the correct information.

Prayer

I have a special list of people who pray for me. I email them more personal stuff going on in my life that I don’t always share in my blogs, as well as prayer requests and praise reports. Message me on Facebook or at [email protected] and request to be put on that list.

Encouragement

I always need encouragement whether on or off the field. Maybe you don’t like to give money or pray, but you love to encourage people. This is the perfect part for you to fill!

Thanks everyone for coming with me on this journey! Let His Kingdom come and His will be done here on earth as it is in Heaven!
