HEY!! I made it to Guatemala!

After a 21 hour flight from India to NYC, a 36 hour layover, and then 5 hour flight to Guatemala from the states, I made it here sane and alive. Guys, Guatemala is incredibly beautiful and colorful. This is not at all like the past 6 months. There’s fresh fruit, laundry services, showers, no dust, clean air, real coffee, and a language I can kind of understand.

Every morning I have woken up to a breakfast of a bowl of fresh fruit. Like what?!

Currently, I am staying at a hostel in Antigua for the next week and a half/two weeks. I’m in a room with 31 other girls and I sleep on the top bunk (third). After the two weeks we will be moving to the AIM base in Paramos. A group is currently staying at the base on a short terms missions trip, so as soon as they leave, we are in! My squad also has an event coming up called PVT (Parent Vision Trip). We get to invite our parents to Guatemala with us for a week and they get to serve along side us. Not everyone’s parents are coming, but in 4 short days, my father will be visiting!

On Sunday, we have the option of where we go to church which isn’t something we have had in the past. My first Sunday here I went to an english/american church. This was the first time on the race where I felt filled by going to church. Nothing was expected of me or my squad mates. We simply got to be a part of a church. In the next three months I will get the opportunity to serve at this church! This church has a campus in Dallas, Texas as well as here in Guatemala. I am so excited to be apart of this church for my time here.

Today I start ministry & once I understand a little bit more of what I will be doing and how I will be serving I’ll write a post to fill y’all in on that. I am so excited to be apart of what God is already doing here & to serve the people here!

P.S. I have a few blog posts to finish up and post about India, so in the next couple of weeks I’ll post those.
