Costa Rica
hello hello! I just got back from one of my new favorite places, costa rica. This wasn’t actually a world race trip, but I felt like I needed to use this platform to share it!
Quick back story.. I was on a coffee date with my sweet friend when she casually said ‘hey you wanna go to Costa Rica with me next week??’… that night I bought a plane ticket. Now you’re all caught up hahah
But seriously!! This trip rocked. my. world. I went with a group of 15 strangers, mostly college students, and through them I witnessed what Jesus’s vision for community was, truly. They were all so real and raw and every single conversation I had this past week was intentional.
Vulnerability. What a word. Kinda a tricky thing. I’ve been told that the missionary community isn’t a place for vulnerable hearts. (Cuz of the attachment and the desperation and whatnot). Although true, I realized this week that I can’t do community well without it. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m SO tired of the shallow relationships. They’re pointless. During this past week in Costa Rica, these college students got to know me better than my own family in some ways, simply because I gave vulnerability a shot. And lemme tell ya, it was the most seen, understood, accepted, and free that I’ve EVER felt.
His timing was so so perfect too, because now I can be real and raw with this new world race team that I’m about to meet in JUST 6 DAYS what!! This is happening people
Anywayssss give vulnerability a try, it will bless your relationships in ways we can’t even imagine, I think that was my point here, ok bye love y’all
with love,
jordan
