Dear Radiant Ladies,
The Lord put it on my heart to write a blog specifically about you 5 girls.
If you didn’t know already, my team holds a lot of wisdom, they also have this deep desire to go outside the walls of what’s acceptable and reach people that typically wouldn’t be reached. My girls will go to the ends of the earth to find someone to serve no matter what it looks like.
For example; I found my self the first week in ministry picking weeds out of a random Guatemalan’s cornfield because it was on Kaja’s heart to serve this man the best way possible. So we picked his weeds, loved on his kids, played some soccer, and also learned how to make tortillas. She desires to be obedient to whatever she feels the Lord is telling her, which I admire so much. She has been an awesome leader to be behind. I admire her strength and her love for every person on our team.
I also have Kelly on my team, which she has a heart as big as a bear. Every person she comes in contact with on the street, she has the deep desire to love on them by creating conversation. She has this beautiful passion to know people beyond surface level and getting to know their heart. She is my little inspiration; she is always uplifting and speaking life into every situation. She has without a doubt becomes my little sister that I will protect and defend till the end.
I have this other girl on my team named Nanie, that has the biggest servant’s heart, she will do about anything for anyone, even if she’s doing it alone, you can see the exhaustion in her face, but she preservers without complaining or grumbling. She is without a doubt the momma in the group, she is constantly taking care of each one of us and even beyond our team. She has the “I can do it” mentality, which honestly is my favorite, because it shows stubbornness and strength all at the same time. She reminds me of my best friend Laura back home and she’s from Texas, which makes her one of my favorites.
Then we have Ashlyn, when this girl walks into a classroom, all eyes are on her. She has a way with a kid that blows my mind. When she’s in a classroom, eyes gravitate towards her, not only because she’s extremely beautiful but because she speaks with boldness and also she has a gentleness about her when she’s with the kids. Every child she meets they fall in love with her, but what’s not to love? Ashlyn is not afraid to be who she is and I love that.
Libby… she has the heart of gold. She seems things in the lenses of the Lord. She captures the smallest moments and creates joy that no one could ever see. She is one of the most genuine girls I’ve ever met. The first time I fell in love with her was at launch, and we were worshipping and I had my head down cause I was so broken about leaving, and she came and prayed over me, and I lost it. The Lord used her to speak so much truth and peace over me, and ever since then she’s been a blessing on this team. Every time she prays.. every single time… I feel like the Lord is speaking through her. It mind boggles me.
These next 8 months aren’t going to be easy, we going remind each other of the gospel. We are going to continue to give support to endure battles and together we can smash our idols and becoming better followers of Christ with undivided hearts. We are gonna continue to call each other out on our sins, and “speak truth in love”.
I love you guys. I hope this can serve as an encouragement to each of you.
