SACRIFICE. HUMILITY. DESPERATE. SERVANT. RELENTLESS. STRONG. These are the words that come to mind and heart when I see the Women of the church of La Cama.
The women here do not have a lot of money, but they find ways to be a blessing. Their giving comes in different forms each day. EVERYDAY at the worksite women come twice a day with snacks. Some days it is homemade snacks and drinks. Other days they travel to the nearest town, an hour away, to get us some “coke and crackers” with what money they do have. They LOVE to bless us everyday, because they have the faith that believes they will be blessed in return for their sacrifice and servants heart.
Each Monday, when we have church in pastor’s yard, it is mostly a congregation of WOMEN. I wish I could give you a glimpse of their desperation for more of God and their relentless attitude and heart. They praise God like there is NO tomorrow! Sometimes women show up a little late to church, and the moment they get in the gate they drop to their knees and cry out to God. It is awesome to see. They will pray and praise God on their knees for awhile, and THEN gather their things to find a seat.
When I see them drop to their knees I just know that I am seeing a PICTURE of what we are going to be doing in Heaven. All we are going to be able to do is drop to our knees and praise Him. They are some of the most AMAZING women I have met, and their strength through their faith is so inspiring.
