These are some of the questions I was asked back in June (yiiiiiikes) Though it’s been a while, I hope by reading this, you are encouraged in your personal walk with the Father π
What is your dream?
I have lots of dreams like skydiving with my brother and getting married and raising a family, but I think the overall dream I have for my life is to be in communion with the Lord, have solid community around me, and show others Christ through it all!
Favorite song?
One of my favorite songs on the race that led me to a lot of thinking was ‘Suit and Jacket’ by Judah and the Lion. Experience life, love people well, and don’t grow old too quickly!!!
Favorite bible verses?
Exodus 4:10-13
I went back to Exodus 4 time and time again while being on the race because I found it so relatable. One of my previous blogs is all about this.
1 Corinthians 1:25
“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”
1 Corinthians 1:26-27
“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.”
2 Corinthians 12 – Paul’s Vision and His Thorn
In the middle of our time in India, I found myself running very low. I found it really hard doing things that I had thrived at earlier in the race. I had been running on my own power, and couldn’t keep going. The Lord used 2 Corinthians 12 to teach me the power in weaknesses and to show me that even His weakness is so much stronger than all of my strength.
James 1:2-3
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trails of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
This was my brother’s favorite verse, and it has stood the test of time for me as well.
Favorite games?
I love game shows, and I love music videos. If you were ever on a team with me, you know these things π
Will you miss the World Race?
Since I’m now home, I can definitely say YES! I miss my friends that are now scattered all around North America so much some days my heart literally hurts!! But the Lord is so faithful ya’ll!!! He continues to show me that He is and goes with me to the ends of this earth.
What did you like most?
I have so many awesome/funny/amazing/miraculous stories and memories, but they wouldn’t be the same without the people I shared all of them with. I like Gap J the most, and the people I met along the way that I got to share life with.
What did you like least?
Community is hands down one of the best things, but it also takes time and can be super hard at times. Living with a bunch of strangers that came from different backgrounds, different upbringings, and have different personalities sometimes had its challenges. That being said, I wouldn’t trade it or them for the world….race… hahahaha. But seriously, I’ve seen how sweet community is no matter how rough it starts off. The Lord can mend things, change hearts, and grow people closer! That being said, if you don’t have people in your life that encourage and speak life into you yet also call you higher and call you out on your shenanigans, find those people! It is the sweetest thing you will ever taste besides Jesus.
What was the access to toilets like?
Toilets were very accessible and ranged from American toilets to squatty potties to the open fields of India (on travel days)
What was your favorite thing you learned from your experience?
My favorite thing hmmmm… I would say my favorite thing I learned was just more about who God is and seeing more of His character. From there, it changes everything. Because I learned more about who God is, I ultimately learned more about who I am as well.
Did you miss your mama?
Momo already knows she was missed π
If you could go back and relive one day whenever you wanted, what day would that be?
Valentine’s Day!! On Valentine’s Day this year, my team was in North East India paired with a co-ed team. Valentine’s Day included Taylor (my teammate) falling into a river, VK (our liaison) falling in trying to catch her, seeing and experiencing divine appointment, pancakes and scrambled eggs, the guys loving and serving the girls really well, and a dance party. All in all it was a phenomenal day that consisted of a lot of miraculous and funny stories.

What has been your favorite place so far and why?
This question is a really hard one because each place was so uniquely different and taught me different things, brought new adventures, and showed me more of who the Lord is in different ways. So instead of picking a favorite, I’ll tell you some of my favorite things about each place π
Ecuador: Ecuador was beautiful in just about every way. The people that make up Ecuador, the landscapes, and the culture itself I totally fell in love with. One huge reason I loved Ecuador was because of my ministry hosts there. They really invested a lot into us and showed us what living missionally looks like rather than going on a mission trip. I loved the freedom my team got to have here. I loved all of the family dinners we had, and I loved inviting our local friends into our space to eat/talk/do life with us.
India: Northeast India in home of some of the most hospitable people I’ve ever met. I loved India because of my intimacy with the Lord and the joy in the simple things I experienced there. I loved how I got to see how far God goes for the good of His children. I also loved all of the sports ministry I got to do there! India challenged me in a lot of ways which led to a loooottttt of growth.
Zambia: In Zambia I saw some of the hardest workers I have ever seen, and I loved getting to work alongside them. Zambia was also a time where community was really really sweet. I felt so known and loved by the people surrounding me. I loved getting to live with 25+ kiddos and watch how they opened up and grew in just the 3 months we were there.
These are just a few things that come to my head when I think back to each place, but I could probably give you a ten page essay of the goodness (and sometimes difficulties) I experienced in each country!
Give us a glimpse into one moment that God totally showed you who He was and rocked your world?
I have a couple of these stories, but one of my favorites is what happened on Valentine’s Day!! We started out pretty early that morning to go to a local families home and pray for them. This was very normal, as we did a lot of home visits while in India. As we’re there and praying over this family, a man that no one knows or recognizes shows up. We find someone who can understand him, and the translator starts telling us what he’s saying. The translator tells us that the man’s foot is really hurting him, and he was on his way to a Hindu temple to receive prayer, but he found out we were there praying for the family and decided to ask us before going to the temple. So of course we begin praying for this man!! We’re praying healing over his foot, but more importantly healing over him, that he would know and experience Jesus and accept him as his Savior!!! As we’re praying, the man has no idea what we’re saying, so afterwards one of the guys from the team we’re with goes outside with him and a translator. Josh washes this Hindu man’s feet and is telling him the story of the Gospel while the translator translates. Like what?!?!?! The Lord showed so much of himself to me in this moment. The Lord used this man’s hurting foot to lead him to a home he just happened to be walking past to receive prayer and hear about Jesus!!! The Lord is recklessly after each of His children and loves us so much. A few days later, a couple of people from our teams went back to talk to the Hindu man again, and he received Christ as his Savior!!!!
Name one thing you thought you’d miss on the race, but ended up being no big deal?
I thought I’d really miss wearing shorts that were shorter than my knees, and at times I really did in the heat of India, but it wasn’t that bad at all.
Most embarrassing moment?
Hahahahhahahaha definitely the time I was asked if I was a boy or a girl. We were in India and had just finished helping bring sand from the river for the foundation of a new church. An elder of the church came up and wanted to thank us, so he said to a teammate of mine, “you are the most beautiful girl in the world.” He then went to another teammate and said, “you should stay here and marry one of the men from our tribe.” And then he got to me and I kid you not, he asked the translator if I was a boy or a girl. Since being around the world, I’ve learned that Jordan is not a gender neutral name in a lot of the world!!!
What’s next?
In October I will be heading to a 9-month discipleship school called G42!! It’s located in a little town called Mijas in southern Spain. Until then, I want to be suuuuper intentional with my time and not just wait for “the next thing.” The next thing is right where I am with the people surrounding me. I will be working, spending lots of time with friends and family, and will be experiencing how the Lord is moving right here in Coppell, Texas!
With alllllll of that being said, none of it would have been possible without all of you that have supported and partnered with me in advancing God’s Kingdom π Ya’ll have played such a huge role in my race experience!! From supporting me to even be able to go on the race (financially, prayerfully, emotionally, etc.) to keeping up with my journey along the way, ya’ll have been huge blessings, and I can’t express that enough!!!
