Hey, this is might sound a little crazy but I’m almost 10 years older than you now and here’s some advice that if you follow will help you live a life that will be rewarded for all eternity.
You just graduated high school and you probably are a little confused about what you want to do with your life. Most importantly you need to pursue your relationship with Jesus Christ. Seek out scripture and do not wander from this truth. Seek wisdom from others, especially your elders, and learn from them but always test everything with scripture. Find someone you know you can trust and confide in to be your accountability partner. Find a core group of friends who love Jesus like you and help each other grow in your walk with Christ. Constantly be in prayer and communication with God and seek to glorify Him in all things and do His will. Do nothing out of selfish ambition. Do everything with the heart of a servant not seeking to please man but God. This life you have on earth is not about you or any other person, it’s all about Jesus. So give, give, and give some more. Don’t stand around and ignore all the injustice in the world thinking you can’t do anything about it. With God you can make a difference so serve with all your heart giving all the glory to God. Don’t waste this short life you have on earth.
You’re 18 now and probably think you’re a man and ready for a serious relationships with the right girl. Let me tell you that you are not so don’t even think about going there until you figure out how to be a real man, a Godly man who puts God and others ahead of yourself.
Once your relationship with God is right, everything else will sort of just fall into place. Always seek out what Gods will is for your life and be open to anything. You never know where God is going to take you in life so always be ready and be obedient to whatever he calls you to. Trust that he will carry you through. Together with Christ, you can do great things and make a difference in the world. You’re probably thinking you've got this life figured out and everything is good but it’s not as good as you think and not as good as it can be. I hope you will take this advice to heart and live a life that truly has a purpose. This all might sound crazy to you now and I know it's a lot of information but trust me on this one, I've been there before.
Love,
Jordan
