Hello friends and family members!
Over the years, many of you have received newsletters from me such as this one updating you on my mission trip experiences. I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done to support my ministry over the years. Those of you who have prayed and who have financially supported me—you are my ministry partners. The Lord has used YOU to help reach lost souls with His love. Thank you so much!
As the Word says in Romans 12, as members of Christ’s body we are each assigned different tasks and spiritual gifts. Some of us are the hands, equipped to serve and ready to reach out to those in need. Some of us are the eyes, gifted with insight and spiritual discernment. Some of us are the mouth, instructed to preach and teach His word. Some of us are the knees, charged to lead the body in prayer and intercession. Each gift is unique, but equally important to the overall health and success of the body.
As for me, I have always been the feet. From a very young age I have known that the Lord has called me to “GO.” In years past I have heeded this charge by going on short-term mission trips. However, at this point in my life I believe the Lord is calling me to something different…something bigger—A commitment that will thrust me out of my comfort zone and into a life of surrender and total dependence on Him.
The commitment I’m talking about is the World Race (not to be confused with the popular reality show The Amazing Race…I’m not gonna be on TV, haha!). Beginning in July of 2013, I will be serving as a missionary through the organization Adventures in Missions. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. Eleven in eleven is what we say.
Through ministry, community, and self- sacrifice, World Racers develop broken hearts that propel their hands and feet to act for God’s kingdom around the globe. While on this life-changing journey, my team and I will serve with churches and ministries to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in the sex industry as a result of human trafficking, and bring the hope and restoration of Christ’s love to many tribes and nations.
When I tell people that I’m doing this, the general response is “Girl, you’re crazy!”
I’ll admit, it is crazy to push pause on college, leave all comforts of home, family, and Sonic sweet tea, in order to live out of a backpack for eleven months. But one thing I’ve learned in my 21 years is that God’s way of doing things rarely makes sense, and at times seems absolutely and utterly absurd! The Scriptures are full of countless examples of this! So yes, when people say that this is crazy, they’re right. This is crazy…just as crazy as Jesus telling His disciples to drop their nets, leave their homes, and sell their possessions in order to follow Him.
With all that being said, these feet can’t go anywhere without being sent by the body! And that is where all of you come in! I am in the process of putting together prayer teams, and financial partners for this trip. I have no doubt that the Lord has called me to this trip, and therefore I have every confidence that He will provide for my needs! Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you. I am writing to you to ask if you would consider partnering prayerfully and financially with me in my ministry. I must raise $15,000 which will cover all expenses during those 11 months. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as monthly contributions, starting now through June.
$15,000 sounds like a huge chunk of change…and it is a huge amount coming from just one person. But look at it this way: If 100 people contributed just $25 a month for the next six months, I would have 100 percent of the funds necessary for my trip. $25 dollars a month…that’s $6.25 a week. That sounds a lot less daunting, doesn’t it?
I would be so honored if you would partner with me financially. To do so, simply click the “Support Me” link on the upper left side of this page. There you will find instructions for how to donate online or through the mail. All contributions are tax deductible as well!
I am so excited to see how God will move in my life and in the lives of others in the coming year. I hope not only to be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you. I would be honored to go as your representative to bring Christ Jesus to nations around the world. I want to thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support. May God bless you as you prayerfully consider partnering with me in this ministry.
In Him,
Jordan G
