Gear List update!!
As I prepare to leave for training camp on the 18th of this month, I'm happy to announce that we've already been able to purchase a few pieces of supplies…
Backpack….Check! Thanks to my wonderful big brother 😀
Sleeping bag…CHECK!! Praise the Lord!! Thanks to the wonderful Mrs. Ruth Hunter (aka Gran-Gran) for making that purchase possible 😀
I've been so encouraged this week by unexpected blessings. For example, while I was at REI the other day, the older gentleman helping me knew all about the world race, and even asked for my blog information so he could support me during the trip. AND as i was fixin to leave the store he came runnin up to me and said "hey there's someone here i want you to meet…." we walk over and he introduces me to a fellow world racer!! we were both in there looking at gear at the same time 😀 small world!! Little moments like that…"God moments"… are His way of keeping me encouraged and keeping me focused. Some days i lose sight of the big picture while worrying about all the details that still have to come together…but then He blesses me with little encounters like that and i'm reminded that He's got it all under control 🙂
Anywho, here's a few updates to the gear list. as i mentioned, my sleeping bag has already been purchased and therefore removed from this list. I need to have the tent before may 18th because that's when i'll head to training camp….they wouldn't really be training us if they didnt make us actually use our gear ahead of time, right? lol!
