Can I get an amen?!?! But seriously I am so passionate about this verse!
But wait… a whole Kingdom belonging to little children? Not just any kingdom but the kingdom of heaven?!?! Is Jesus crazy?!? Well yeah, but that’s beside the point. I can see it… Billions of children gathered at the feet of Christ, billions of children in humble adoration of the King of Kings, billions of children raising their voices in worship holding nothing back. I can see it, and in my teary eyes there is nothing more stunning.
Children. I have always admired children. That childlike faith, and call me crazy but I think that they might have so much more to offer us then we have to offer them. Children, especially little children are so often underestimated. Even the disciples questioned Jesus and wanted to rebuke the children coming to see Him. That makes me really angry! Children are the ones who can love the best. Children are the ones who will trust without restraint. They have not yet been polluted by the ways of the world. They are still so innocent.
When I see or hear about injustice being done to a child I feel a stabbing pain in my chest and get really upset and furious.
Right now I am in the process of reading a book called Kisses for Katie. In this book an 18-year-old girl moves to Uganda. Throughout the book she encounters God through children and ends up adopting 13 precious girls. Whenever I sit down to read the book it moves me to tears. I hear the stories of these children and I see Gods heart for them, and how he used Katie to bring them justice and a family. I have jokingly told a few of you that I am going to want to adopt all the children I encounter in each country. Actually I don’t know if it is really a joke because I will probably have a real desire to.
Unfortunately I do not have the resources to do that. But you do! I know what you are thinking…“Wait a second Jordan I know you have always had crazy dreams but now you are just getting ridiculous! Adopting hundreds of children! Yeah right!”
No no no not hundreds, just one. Not even adopting in the sense you are thinking either. I am asking you to sponsor a child and it may even end up being a child that I get to meet! Ok so infomercial time…. for only $32 dollars a month. That’s about $1 a day you, yes YOU can change the life of a child!
