I'm fully funded!
It's absolutely incredible that I can say that. The outpouring of support from family, friends, and people who barely know me is extraordinary. It feels so incredible to have that burden off of my shoulders, and now I can truly enjoy that last couple of days with friends and loved ones before I leave for a year.
My agenda has been exceptionally busy: A trip to Tennessee to see family, then immediately back to Alpharetta and at work for three more days (my time at the Atlanta Athletic Club has been thoroughly enjoyable and productive), I'm presently in Auburn for the weekend, seeing friends for the last time in a year, knowing that at the conclusion of that time they may be thousands of miles away and the doors we've opened may have closed.
I've said good bye to mentors, skeptics, loved ones and friends and now there is only little more than a week before I leave. I'm floored, and the only reason I'm going is because of your generoisty. Thank you so much.
It's amazing to look at the list of supporters and see who is behind me and believes in what I'm doing will be good for me and good for those we meet along the way. It's validation that what I'm doing can only be good, will be life changing, and will make me a better person in the long run.
I listened to a sermon by Andy Stanely, the preacher at North Point Community Church where I attend sporatically, and the message of the sermon was simple: "Are you the person, the person you're looking for, is looking for?" Right now, I don't believe I am, and it was a hard thing to accept; however, I have faith that in a year's time, I might be, or will at least be on the right track.
Thank you again for your extraordianary generosity, stay tuned for more updates in the days preceeding launch. I'm getting closer and closer to that "last Chik-Fil-A sandwich" ugh!
